Default Thomas Kinkade stamp question

I was wondering if the TK stamps can be compared to photo-image stamps from Stampsmth.
I love the stamps by Stampsmith but they're so darn difficult to stamp with!
Out of 10 I get 1 image ok if I'm lucky and I've tried so many different paper/ink combo's.
So I haven't got any TK yet as I didn't want to have more stamps that are so difficult.

This is not about the coloring.....it's the actual stamping that is difficult (for me it is)

Vronica;)

I wish I could give you a direct answer to this question, but I don't own any Stampsmith images.

That said, I have tested the Kinkade images with over 10 types of ink and numerous types of paper and have found very few that don't work.

The most crisp image I have achieved has been with Brilliance or StazOn Ink by Tsukineko on an ultrasmooth paper. That said, I just uploaded a card a few minutes ago with Ranger's Distress ink which is hardly considered a "detail" ink and I love how it turned out. Kinkade in Yellow

There are many Kinkade cards uploaded to the Splitcoast gallery.

Hope that helps.

Hi Vronica,

I don't have a point of reference either on the Stampsmith images, but made my first card with a Thomas Kincaid image last night.

I thought it might take some trial and error, but I had a crisp image the first go! I was SO pleased! I inked the Foxglove Cottage image with Pitchblack Adirondack ink and I didn't use a brayer.

My example is here:
Foxglove Cottage - SC146 by Silvergirl at Splitcoaststampers

Thanks and I hope this helps,
Lisa

I've had no problems getting a good image. I've used different papers and a bunch of different inks. If you are concerned, perhaps buy one small one and see if you like it. Or, come to my house and I'll let you play!!

Hi Vronica,
I wanted to share this link to a card I uploaded today
http://forums.cornishheritagefarms.c...2/limit/recent
Really was super easy to stamp and you can see that all the detail shows up. IRL it's even more stunning. I have never had a hard time getting a really crisp image as long as the paper has the right texture.

I just spent my morning stamping part of a huge card order. I designed the card with the TK Silent Night and stamped it 125 times without 1 bad image. A couple of them aren't lined up well but the image itselt is wonderful! I used SU! craft ink and had to refill the inkpad every 20-25 images but I love it!
