my desk looks like the ink, cardstock, and embellishments blew up! Stuff is everywhere, pretty much all of the time. I do stop to clean is when I only have one small corner left to stamp at.

I clean my stamps right away and put them back in the case, but I live out of a closet and HATE putting all my toys away. With two little ones I try to stamp whenever there is some downtime.......which hardly happens..........and need to be able to get to them fast. If I put them away by the time I find everything I want and sit down one of the DS's wants attention/wakes from a nap.
I have a nest where I stamp. I only clean up when I am spending more time looking than creating. But then I have to recreate a nest to work again. I've tried to work with it cleaned up, and nothing happens.
"Exploding" is the correct term.......stuff explodes everywhere on the surface! I clean it up when I have to. Only then, because it stifles creativity! ;)

I always clean my stamps as I go, put them away, after the project is completed.
For me, it's not the stamping tools/supplies that pile up/encroach on my workspace. It's the paperwork of running a biz. THAT is an area I need to get better about filing things away instead of PILING everywhere. :(

Right now my dining room table is my stamp area. Once we get a house which hopefully if all goes well will be end of the June then I will have a room to stamp in and I will get creative with storage and space.
I have a mess on the table right now cause I just don't feel like putting it all away when I am done. I do make sure and clean my stamps off but then everything just sits on the table.
I *think* there is a table somewhere under my stuff !!
I have actually spent the last 3 nights trying to find it & get myself organized. Finding it hard though as I share my space with my 4 year old daughter who loves to come 'craft' with Mommy.
I stamp on our dining room table, too. I only clean up if somebody REALLY IMPORTANT is coming over, which would be never, or when my DH says to me, "honey, I haven't seen the dining room table in 3 months." I don't think I can be creative and actually make something if it's tidy. Thank goodness we have a kitchen table to eat on!
I have to have my table clean before I start working on the next card, even if I'm going to use some of the same supplies (I put them away just to get them out again).......
It just bothers me to have things out of place...... I think that's why I'm not good at collage cards
Ok, my desk is organized, but if I am working on a project, I am now at the point where I use several stamps sets at a time, I clean each after each use. But usually in mid project there begins to get stuff everywhere, I guess you would say organized mess. Then when I am done, I clean up!
I will make sure to clean my stamps and put them back in the appropriate case and that's where it ends...I am a creative slob, I need to see all my stuff to get creative. My two work tables are somewhere underneath embellishments, paper, Michael's shopping bags, etc and the scary thing is if you ask me for my 3/4 inch circle punch, I know which box of ribbon to lift up to get at them. I like to call the office/craft room "organized chaos".

God, I admitt it. I'm a neat freak! I just can't be creative unless things are put away in there place and my area is all tiddy. If I make a mess I tend to stop and throw away anything that's on my table. Boy, I really need to loosen up some..huh..LOL

I uasually clean up after each set of cards that I make, just so I can get my bearing.... I don't like a cluttered mess and I can focus on the next card...

I am somewhere in the middle. I clean each stamp after using it and I put some things away when I am done. I am fortunate that in my new worspace everything is stored behind me so that I can just turn around and grab it and put it right back. Before my table was in the middle of the room and all my stuff was on the other side. I was miserable, and everything was way too spread out. Much happier and much cleaner now!
I'm embarassed to admit that my stamp room is still messy from VSN and I only completed 4 challenges! Just imagine if I'd done them all! I've been extremely busy and just haven't had time to get back in there.
I'm kind of like a tornado though, grabbing out cardstock, not bothering to put it back stamp sets all over the floor, ink pads...... well you get the idea. I'm not proud of it, but hey thats me.
I have to have my table clean before I start working on the next card, even if I'm going to use some of the same supplies (I put them away just to get them out again).......

Ohhh, I wish I could be the teansiest bit like you!
Well, I go in spirts. Sometimes I can be so neat and other times I'm a slob.
When the creative juices are flowing, I just can't stop and have to push stuff off to the side. I keep a wet diaper (just water, ladies!!) on a plate to wipe off my stamps and try to clean them right away but sometimes they don't. Usually because they need more than just water to clean.
The scrap paper sometimes get deep 'cause I don't want to file it in its color file right away.
Fortunately, I have a separate room for all this so a mess is not an issue. I love it when friends come cause I have a REAL good excuse to hurry up and clean up.
One way I have found to keep a little more open space on my desktop is to put the pens, pencils, markers, scissors, stumps, etc. of the current project in a can. I find I put them away faster and have more room to work.

I am soooo bad! I often work with just enough room to lay my card down and I have an entire table for nothing but stamping. I was much better when I used the dinning room and I had to clean up after each sesson, I'm out of control now that I have a whole room!

Ha!! Was it just yesterday I was raggin on ya for not cleaning the black ink off right away?? I told her I didn't care so much if stamps are stained because they are used a lot....I do care if they are stained out of LAZINESS!!!
I am pretty neat. I like my stuff put away, but I leaven scraps out until I decid there are too many. I used to be much neater...now that I have my own room it's way messy!
Location: In my Happy Place with no one bothering me....I hope!

This about says it all for me! My DD (also 4) love to do "crafty stuff" with me. My table is always a mess... but I like to think I work better that way. After a week or so, I re-organize and start all over again!!
I'm kinda a bit of both. I have to have a lot of boxes of stuff around me but I am fanatical about cleaning my stamps right after using them. I hate the staining on my rubber.
I have to clean up fairly quickly as my stamping area is the dining table and we always eat every evening at the table. I find it so hard though, because it is always in the middle of inspiration.
My supplies i keep very neatly when I am not using them. I can't find anything if I don't.
OK, so I am known for my organization "problem". I cannot stand to have stuff all over the place. It drives me nuts! I clean my stamp table all the timie just to make sure it looks ok and I can find everything. BIG pet peeve of mine.
I'm a mess..... I end up with 7 or 8 stamp sets just dumped out pieces everywhere, cardstock bits all over the floor, table, everything... ribbon everywhere, straggling out of rolls here and there.... just a total mess!
I'm exloding when I am actually stamping a project, I do clean each stamp as I go, but when it is completed, everything finds its home again. I have to have a clean, neat area to begin, every single time. But, then again, my area is in the family room, on a substantial counter, well at least it seemed that way when we built it, now it's too small!! Back to the point, it's all visible, not tucked away sight unseen. I probably would be less likely to keep it clean if I could shut the door!
I prefer to have a nice clean workspace. Unfortunately I don't. I do clean each stamp when I am done with it. The rest gets done in spurts when I get really, really sick of my stamping area getting smaller and smaller with more and more stuff left out.
D

I would FREAK OUT if my stamp sets got mixed up! I ALWAYS put my stamps right back where they came from after scrubbing them clean ASAP after using them. One set never touches the other without a plastic box between them. I practice safe stamping
Now...the rest of the stuff...let's just say it's WAY opposite of how I take care of my stamps!
I clean my stamps as I go. But most of my embellishments and supplies are around my work table as I work. I am definitely not neat. Although, I do like the way it looks for those few seconds it is cleaned off! LOL

Michelle, chai tea came out my nose on that one! LOL!!
I do clean my stamps and put them back in the case immediately.....it's the working surface that ends up with a 4" square space for me to work in! It's the paper, embellishments, etc. I have my own room now so I'm trying harder....really, I am!

I use the swipe method.... my workspace gets invaded, I take my arm and swipe everything else over.... lol.... keeps everything piling up on one end of the table.... to deal with "later" always "later"
I am soooooo glad I am not alone. I have a 2 car plus garage that is all mine. It is my stampin room. It is also where I host my stamp camps. That means I have a lot of table to work with. When one gets filled and I need some space I just move to the next one. Right now all the tables are full and I have moved into the house to make all of my swap cards. I think it is time to get started cleaning up but all I want to do is stamp. I have a box coming into tomorrow. I guess it is on to the dinning room table. The kids can eat outside on the sidewalk can't they????? I think I need some help anyone interested?
I can't start work if it's a mess... so at the beginning of every project, everything MUST be clean, tidy, neat, put away, sorted by color, freshly wiped down and de-stickied, scented candle burning, soft music playing...
Then I get started, and six minutes later there are plastic stamp boxes EV.ERY.WHERE., embossing powder flurries filling the air, paper trimmer crammed into an ever-shrinking flat surface, alcohol inks staining my fingers and toes and clothes and countertop, the candle's gone out from sheer terror and the gentle music has been replaced by some Black Flag or Pixies or Misfits...
