Default Tip-for making unmounted stampin up stamps with image on the foam

I thought I would share this. If it has already been thought of I
apologize.

I love my wood mounted rubber stamps but lately I have been turning them into cling mounted. That way when it is time to down size I will be able to do so.
Now I love the stamps that you can see the image on the foam.
When you get a stampin up set you have a sticker sheet in the set. This will not not stick to an acrylic block. So I started thinking to myself....I wonder if I could buy clear cling vinyl........then I thought my friend is in the sign business I wonder if they can get the clear cling vinyl from one of their companies.... And low and behold she could. That is when it all came to me.

1. Run the image sticker sheet out of your stamp set through the sticker maker so BOTH sides are sticky.
2. Place the sticker on the back of the stamp in the
correct position.
3. Because you have made the image sheet into a double sided sticker you can now place it on the clear cling vinyl and it will stick.
4. Trim around the image and you have an acrylic cling mount stamp with the image on the back.
5. You can store these stamps on the lids of the stamp box they come in. You can cut extra boxes you will have and make sheets for inside the boxes and store 3-4 stamps sets in one box.
6. You can then catalogue the stamp sets to which box they are stored in.

I hope this helps with some storage issues.

I have not tried this yet for unmounting other wood stamps but I have thought about how to get them images on the back and I think stamping the image with stazon on the vinyl then running it through the sticker maker may work. I will have to try it.

Cling vinyl is the stuff that the images for windows is made of. You know for valentines, easter and such...you put them on and then peel them off and reuse next year.

I bought the vinyl from a company that makes signs. I ordered it by the yard and it was clear.

I do use cling foam for my stamps that do not have foam on them but the stampin up come with the foam and stickers. I wanted to figure out a way to use them.

They work fine for me. I have many stamps I have done like this
