My husband was telling me a story shared by a female co-worker (I forget her name, we'll say Linda?)....
Linda is an avid quilter. She has her own craft room with LOADS of material all over. She keeps the door closed at all times so her husband won't see the sinful massive quantities of supplies. Linda recently went to a craft convention sort of thing where they make their own projects. She discovered she REALLY needed some of her material that she had left at home, and called her husband for help.
Linda told her husband the exact location in her craft room, where he would find her much needed items, just hoping he wouldn't notice the rest. Hubby delivered the items without a word of the excess. However... when she got home from her craftfest, he said, "Fix me a drink- we have to talk...".
Linda's thinking "Uh, oh, here it comes!". Her husband says, "After seeing your craft room, I'm realizing you have a lot of material in there you must not be using. Why, you probably have over $100 worth of stuff in there!". Now THAT had me ROTFL! Linda breathed a HUGE sigh of relief and promised to get rid of a little.
Do any of you ladies think you might have OVER $100 OF CRAFT STUFF?? My husband TOTALLY saw the humor in this- he knows I have a ton, but probably not an accurate figure all the same...

That is hysterical! If only! My DH knows I spend a lot, but he's come to appreciate all that can be done. He made me a card for Valentine's Day and was impressed with all the cool tools. My birthday is coming up -- more training!
Obviously, she made him a pretty strong drink that he downed before he spoke!
Too funny!

I think that is too funny!!!!...They have no concept of how much it actually cost to have the supplies we do have. I have been a demo for bearly a year and I have well....much much much more than "just over one hundred dollars" worth of stuff...*G*

I think my husband would have a heart attach if he knew how much money I have in my "stuff". I started to create a data base once upon a time. When the $$ started accumulating, I decided I didn't want to know either.

DITTO- ignorance is bliss!!

Now that IS funny!! Especially considering the fact that most of us probably have over $100 in just storage units.
I'd suggest that "Linda" could have made reference to his power tools (providing he had any), but in this case, those are all MINE, too.
Thanks for providing my laugh for the day.
OMG that is HYSTERICAL! I would totally have fun with that. "Oh honey - I know my craft hobbies are a little expensive, and I probably can get rid of a few things i don't need anymore. 10% would be $10 worth of things maybe i can part with...
Oh... if my hubby only knew how many times i round up orders to get extra bene's... many times rounding up more than the bene's are worth...
My DH went and braved the crowds at M's to pick up the Cricut that my sister and I share, so he knows that cost nearly $200 Cdn. He sees all the cartridges lined up beside it and knows they retail for between $80 and $120 Cdn, AND he knows I have minimums to meet to maintain my hobby SU demoship (not to mention the CTMH and TAC packages that occassionally turn up and other odd packages that turn up in the mail box - dang supermailboxes, LOL!)
He's so laid back and never says anything - I'm just waiting for the bubble to burst. I'm lucky that he still treats me like his princess after all these years!
I have a spreadsheet with all the StampinUp sets listed and their value. After I marked the ones I had and reviewed the total, I nearly threw up because I knew that it didn't include all the tools and accessories in my supplies!
I'm going back up to my little space tonight to sort and clean. Maybe it won't look like there is so much stuff when it's all neatly sorted and stacked.
Heee...Hee...Hee. This had me rolling on the floor laughing (to the amazement of my co-workers!). My husband, an accountant, would give a much more "fair market" assessment!!!

You must have a hubby like mine- isn't that nice??

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking...;)

Oh I wish I had only a $100 extra or even a $1000 extra worth of craft stuff. I have at least $2000 - worth of retired sets I can't part with. Let a lone the cardstock from Michaels and other places and all the tings I think I can alter.
My husband just drools at gargae sale time and all I bring is mabye a few things from years and I mean years ago. Such as hoops when I was doing wall hangings or leather from dream chatcher time. Usually about $5.00 worth new not at garge sale prices. But then he did just say I should get the cuttlebug and when i made him a card he said it would have been even worth it a full price. So I love him still.
Ha-ha-HAAAAH!!!
That is so funny! TFS
I wouldn't be able to make a decent card with just $100 worth of stuff!
I would estimate close to $2000 or a little over for mine.
ROTFL!! Yeah ..... almost $100 in craft stuff .... that's it ..... wow. Unfortunately, my dh knows that I can spend $300 on SU stuff in a heartbeat ...
My husband teases me each time a make a card that is cost over $100. Somedays he is right when I have to place an order for just that perfect set and then all the "extra" so that I get bennies. But truthfully I don't think he has a clue.

For me, DH is happy I have something to do as he loves to play video games. So as long as I don't bug him with that, he doesn't bug me with the my toys!
Thanks for the Friday laugh! That was great!
Happy Friday all

I'm so blessed my husband is so supportive of my habit oh I mean hobby. But that's probably because his car hobby cost way more than mine ever will. funny story though it's so true, they don't realize how much money we have invested.
My hubby is addicted to music. So with 8 guitars, multiple speaker thingys, full-sized keyboard, and his 1000's of cd's, he can't say a word about all of my craft supplies. At least I am mostly earning them with my instant income now. Can't say the same for him! ;)

hehehehe my fiance has a boat and an expensive fishing hobby so anytime he even starts to mention my craft stuff all I say is your boat is twice as must as all my stuff put together! and it shuts him up every time!! one of these days though my craft stuff will probably be more than the boat at the rate I'm going!

We're all laughing  ,but Mindykid has a point with her spreadsheet. I have heard other ladies do this for insurance purposes - just how much would it cost you to replace this stuff if something happened to your home? I know craft supplies might not be everyone's #1 priority in the event of a household tragedy, but still - this stuff has quite a high value. We've all seen how much USED sets go for on the bay. . .somthing to think about. I have been meaning to create a spreadsheet like this of all my stamp supplies, but it would cut into my stampin' time.

I'm afraid to go there- I don't think I'll ever add it up. I think I'll just keep sorting and stacking!!

I think I have close to $100 (CAD) worth of just adhesives, and I don't even have the fancy ATG! My DH totally supports my hobby, tho, as he sees how much thought I put into purchases, and how much I try to actually use the stuff I buy. It doesn't hurt that I stick within my monthly allowance, either.

My hubby stamps with me so he knows how much everything costs, but he doesn't mind because he uses the supplies too. No to mention his shopping list is as big as mine...LOL!

DH knows I have tons of money invested in all that stuff. I don't think he knows everything I buy tho. He is blissfully ignorant. Or at least I'm blissfully ignorant of his perceived ignorance. In any case, he doesn't have any room to talk because I am the bread winner in the family. And as long as we're not hurting for cash and he can still buy tools and other junk, I'm going to spend $ on what I like!

This has made me stop and think. I'm sure my boyfriend doesn't have a clue how I have in stuff. We've talked about a lot of stuff...if we get married...
Do I really have to tell him what I spend? My money has been just that, MY money. If it becomes our money, how do I still get the things that I want? Hmmm I'm going to have to put some thought into this one...
