at work here, they just issued an email saying there is fraudulent email going around about paypal, to make people think their accounts are being closed. Maybe the scam is tied into their system and screwing something up. I don't know, just a thought.
I have tried by using paypal.com, the link in "My Ebay", clicking on the PayPal link via Yahoo search...and everytime I get the Cannot find server page!!! Very annoying!!

Could there be something wrong with you internet service or your computer. Is it just paypal that you can't get onto.
I was on this moring and just tried and I got on okay.
I have received that email saying my account has been closed from both Paypal, Ebay, & others that I have never used like Wachovia, Checkfree, Washington Mutual Bank, etc, several times. I have also received 3 emails from someone supposedly a customer from Ebay asking where there stuff is. I haven't sold anything on Ebay in months. Instead of clicking on the links(because that will identify your computer to the hacker), close it out and bring up Ebay or Paypal, etc. and check everything from there. If you find that someone is trying to do this to you make a report by emailing ebay's fraud division at [email protected], not sure of Paypal's. I have been doing alot of research on this because I seem to get one at least once a week. I have even went so far as to check the ISP address to see what area of the world some of these emails are coming from. Guess what, none came from the U.S. They were from Japan, China, I even had one from Iraq. Be very careful, if you click on any of the links in the email, it will identify your computer to the sender. If they identify your computer they can hack into it and take all of you financial info. With most of these frauds coming from overseas there will be nothing you can do to recoupe your losses. Please be very careful!!!
I'm ready to pull my hair out!!! I was able to reach PayPal through my daughters account, just not mine!! I have tried through www.paypal.com, ebay, search engines...nothing. I sat on hold for 15 minutes to talk to someone from PayPal and they said it is my computer and they can't help. Does anyone know how to fix this. PayPal techs were useless!!! I don't know anything about switching settings!

LONG DISTANCE CALL FROM MI), they tried 3 things which didn't work and they told me to call a local computer company and see if they know. All this for one flippin site!!!! Nobody knows??? Microsoft said they'd help if my manufacturer if I pay them!!!!! Are you kidding???? Is Bill Gates that hard up??? Nice customer service!!! I am so frustrated! Thank you everyone who replied.

I had trouble yesterday. My address has been confirmed for months and my bank account verified for months. Suddenly they want the addresses from ebay and paypal and the bank to all match. Well my bank does not show the last 4 digits of the zipcode (it was not in effect way, way back when I opened that account). I was so dad-gum mad at being jerked around yesterday going from screen to screen and trying to get an answer. I finally shot them off an email and said "I want to pay for my purchase - please fix!" Ten minutes later I was able to go in and pay for my purchase and no more was said about addresses matching.

Dawn - just a thought. Make sure you can sign in from someone else's computer. Could your account have been hijacked and your password changed without your knowledge? I don't mean to cause worry - but I'd certainly check it!

See my post in the ChitChat forum about Phishing...
Watch out because I had identity theft through paypal. They took almost $5000 before it was caught by my bank. Car loans, credit cards--awful! Be careful!
