Default Ummm, don't heat emboss near your Stampin' Scrub...

because it will melt the fibers in the scrubbie pad.

Duh.

Okay, I am so very sorry that this happened to you, but I had a chuckle when I read your post and looked at your avatar. That dog looks just like somebody melted the scrubbie things in his stampin' scrub.

Don't be too hard on yourself, we all make mistakes from time to time.. Like when I decided to heat emboss after the card was supposed to be finished.. And well, I melted the ribbon right off the card.
Humm, now how didn't I know that would happen?

Must have happened to someone at Stampin' Up! too for them to have started offering refill pads. LOL! Could you all see Shelli forgetting her scrub in the dishwasher or embossing over it and having to buy new pads?

Yeah, I don't think that Shelli would have to buy new pads.

The woman probably has a stockpile of stuff in her house...if she even stamps at home.

Heat embossing will not only melt your stamp and scrub...it will melt your clothes right off of you! Anything that has manmade fibers will just melt...I have a few fleece tops to prove it.

Also, don't heat emboss right on your Fiskars cutting mat.

The Fiskars cutting mat - who knew it would curl so charmingly? I was thinking it would protect the table. Wrong about that, too.
Susan - I love the visusal of Shelli pulling a contorted scrub pad out of the dishwasher!

Don't emboss on the carpet either...we had a stamp camp at a "free" community place and the nearest extra outlet was not near a table. We weren't watching closely enough and several guests took the embossing guns over to the extra outlet and embossed their cards on the floor....melting a nice area in the carpet. So much for using the place for "free". Luckily it was carpet that came in those industrial squares and we only had to replace a few.

I actually warped my friends olfa cutting mat, I felt so bad! It's amazing how you feel so much worse when it's someone else's...I did replace it and I still didn't learn...after that I ruined a few clothes.
