The Vellum paper is very thin and great for overlays, stamping, etc. This does not work well with my printer as it frequently got damaged. I prefer the Vellum Cardstock for anything that I want to run through my printer. Just my two cents and my experience. Good luck!
I'm very new to this site , but I do know the answer to this one. Vellum cardstock is a much heavier weight than the vellum. It's kind of like the difference between the regular cardstocks and regular printer paper in terms of the weight. They both have the same tranlucent quality though. A couple of year ago, I bought a package of heavy weight vellum at Staples. Here's the instructions from the package. You can stamp on the vellum instead of running it through your printer for a design.
PS: Use a glass votive holder with a small votive candle and NEVER burn unattended!
You can heat emboss on both weight of vellum. I just completed 180 card fronts on vellum paper and while it did curl when heat embossing, it went back to its flat state when the paper cooled. To prevent paper jams when printing on the paper vellum, I usually put 10 sheet of regular paper in and then load one sheet at a time of the vellum paper. That has always worked well for me.
