One of my first purchases was the corner slot punch, well many months later it was still sitting on my shelf unopened. But I learned a great trick at convention. You can use it to make tags! I think my photos explain it all. It's is one of those, duh why didn't I think of that.

Hey, at least you were using your punch! Mine was acting as a paper weight!

OK....I just woke up so this may be the problem....but right now - I don't understand how the corner peices at the bottom work or what purpose they are for? I always leave my tags squared off at the bottom. Can someone explain what those pieces are trying to show?

I imagine that it is just showing you how to use what you cut off as an embellishment so you don't waste anything. I bet that it would look great in a contrasting color.
Great tip! TFS!!!

Kay, I know I am not the quickest, but I still don't get it. Is it just so that you can cut a straight line? I am lost -- HELP this poor confused dumb brunette . . . ;)
I think that once you punch the corners you cut them and you have a tag shape. The second pic just shows that you can place them on the bottom and tuck in your tag or embelishment on those cut out pieces. No waste! Thanks for sharing this idea, now I can show it in my next workshop!
Awsome, thanks for sharing that! I try to cut my own tags, and my cuts are never the same on both sides. It drives me crazy! I don't own this punch.....yet, but I will soon!
Thanks so much for sharing this (and especially with pictures cuz that helped me visualize). Thats what I love about this site..such great ideas from such creative ladies.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! I have ruined more scrap pieces of card stock trying to make my own tages - I'm "angle challenged"!! This is just the niftiest thing!
I personally would not use the little cut off corners on the bottom, but would probably use them as "photo corners" for some other embellishment on another card.
Thank You again for sharing this piece of Convention Wisdom.

OH! OH!! OH!!! Gues What?!?!?! If you don't what a pointy end at the top of your tag, you can take your corner rounder and round off that pointy end perfectly!! Sooooooo Cool! Now I can make ALL kinds of tags!

Thanks for sharing this! It's definitely a "why-didn't-I-think-of-that?" moment! I haven't made a lot of tags simply for this reason... it's too much work for me to measure and cut perfect angles! Now I need to put this on my order!
Thanks!

After studying the pics in to OP for SEVERAL minutes. Then going grocery shopping and contimplating...and coming back here and staring at the pics again for several more minutes... Doh! I finally get it!!
This is a great idea!! Does anyone know if SU has fixed the problem with it leaving that black mark on the cardstock? I was going to order one about 3 months ago and heard on here of them having this problem and didn't get it. Just thought I would give everyone a heads up on what to look for when you get yours. Please let me know if they fixed the problem.
well,,, duh, smacking my forehead too,,,, my punch has been taking up space in my punch drawer,,,, what an excellent idea,,,, thanks for sharing
