You tell me if it is something you would want. I would be willing to start it weekly.
Would we like to have a weekly sale thread that we all posts sales we know about for that week?
a) Do we want it?
b) What days of the week should we run it? Sun-Sat, Mon-Sun, etc.?
The one thing I would ask is that people dont share codes the company is only giving to their subscribers. It's kind of cheating. But what we could do is say there is this offer if you are subscribed...people could sign up for the day and then cancel after. Or is that too goody-two shoes for people? If you all want to post the codes, I wont object. I'll go with the flow. I dont want it to be a deal breaker. Afterall, in the end, the company wants the business right? (my inner debate is showing lol)
We are all trying save a buck here...and many hands make light work.
OR...
Is this too dangerous for people? For the same reason you dont sign up to the sites in the first place?
Some time ago I killed a lot of them...then I re-built my emails/changed providers and now have a dedicated email just for this kind of thing. I can look at it or not without missing emails from family and friends. I can just delete it all if I feel like it and this has made all the difference for me...but I would totally understand if some dont want it.
I could also have a permanent reminder to people to check out our own buy/sell thread here.
I will tell you this so as to not start another thread b/c this is such a good deal-
My Favorite Things (MFT) is having a 1 day bundle sale on double pierced frames...all four shapes for 1/2 price together. That saves you 50 bucks. Serious cha ching. I was talking about getting the stitched frames a month ago-and went with this. Close enough.
Or they have them individually on sale but not as good a sale but still good.
I read it as a physical store not intent, as there is a listing for over night accommodations in the add.
Also lists free admission, classes, cookies and coffee

Ahhh, an enabler thread! Great idea Wavejumper. Joanne is having a 50% off, online only, for stamps and some stamping supplies. Today is the last day. Just placed my order! The AI warehouse is such a tempting one, I love their stamps.
I would definitely use such a thread. At one time I could find sales in the announcements, but it is sometimes difficult to access just sale info easily.
Thanks a bunch Wavejumper!
I also would use the thread. I've taken a couple year break from stamping because of family stuff but am back at it now and feel a little out of touch with what is out there. If I saw sale stuff it would be a starting point to catching up on some of the things I've missed.
OMGosh. I totally forgot about the announcement board which I think I have only seen a couple times.
Well now I feel like a dope.
Now I dont know what to do. If I do do the thread, it seems like it should be over there? I have posted sales here and seen others here. I think I might not be the only one who doesnt realize about that board? I am bookmarked to come straight here to Gen discussions.
Maybe I should be coming in the front door of the home page instead of a side door like this. Hmm. What else am I missing?

The only time I've noticed people kindly alerting us to sales in the Announcements forum is when I see the announcement as the last post posted on the general forums page, which is hit or miss.
So I like the idea of this regular post appearing in General Stamping Talk! If I have money then to spend, at least I'll know where to get bargains. And if I need to be good, I'll just ignore you and I know you won't be hurt by that
I think a regular sale thread would be extremely useful. Those who love to shop for bargains can always find one. Those who are waiting for a good deal on a specific, long-wanted item won't miss out when it goes on sale.
I don't shop much but like Poppydarling, I'll just (lovingly) ignore your posts until I can afford to take a peek.
I would definitely NOT be offended if people skip the thread-I am glad you know me well enough to know that.
Ok well...I dont want to "buck" the established system on the announcement board but there also does seem to be interest for this to be here...hopefully we have both.
So I will try to do it. It may well be possible that in a given week there are no sales to be had too. If it falls flat, I wont be hurt either....nothing ventured, nothing gained. We wont know if we dont try.
No one mentioned what days of the week it should run, so I am thinking I will go with Monday to Sunday as Sunday is favorites day and I dont want to distract from that.
So this Monday I will start the thread for the week. If anyone finds something during those days, they can post to the thread for everyone to go to.
In the meantime, I can sign up for more company notices to increase our chances of finding out. Are there any companies people definitely want to hear about?
Subbing. Interesting idea. I do know that Stampin' Up! has weekly deals starting on Tuesdays and they offer clearance items on their website, but it doesn't seem to change very often. HTH
123 stitch has weekly deals as well that rotate, including stamps/dies based on subject.
Today-My Favorite Things sent me an email for 50% off retiring product-stamps, dies, stencils, ink and it is moving fast. Before I could even place my order I lost a die and stamp set.
In addition-which is sweet-their standing offers to save with a larger order is working too ...so if you order over 60, you get a free die set, over 75 it's free shipping, over 100 it's an additional 10% off the already 50% off stuff. (more if you go higher-see ways to save)
That's good "stacking" for me to use the supermarket coupon lingo.
The product is already marked down. No code needed. Just go to the sale section.
Here's a good one for the thread Spellbinders up to 48% off MSRP through the 18th. Free shipping over $25. I have ordered from them before and it's a good company with fast shipping.
