Default What to do with those plastic inserts in CD cases???

You know, the ones that you have to take out so that your unmounted stamps fit in the case? I have a whole stack of them. I haven't thrown them away because I keep thinking that I can make SOMETHING out of them, but I haven't been able to think of anything in years....so, does anyone have any ideas? or do y'all just throw them out?

Thanks,
Christine

I save a few of them to use as palettes for my watercolor crayons. I scribble the crayons on them and then use an aqua painter to pick it up and paint on my design with. Works very well. The rest I throw away.

I didn't see it either, but I have your stamp room memorized now. I saw the CD cases, but not the inserts.
To everyone who throws away the inserts: can you recycle them? We can recycle pretty much any kind of plastic now. I would throw them in the recycle bin. If they can't use them, they'll throw them out. I love curbside recycling!

I saw them Jean! What a creative idea. Thanks!
Here is a direct link for those who couldn't see it.

I also liked the idea of using a couple of them as paint palettes. Such creative ideas. Anymore out there?

Thanks,
Christine

Oops - I guess my link didn't work either. (Why did they take the EDIT away from us???) When you go to that link you'll see a few pics down the left side of the page. Just look for one titled " Ribbon Holder" and click on that one.

HTH,
Christine

Oh honey, let 'em go!

No one in my ancestry could ever throw away anything that might be useful someday. I daily fight a double-whammy of packrat genes. Trust me. Let 'em go!

If you're not going to use them... Place them in the recylce bin....If you have them.

I hated throwing them out! and Yes I am Scotish background.
So I thought what could I use them for?

And this is what I came up with.

Many other great uses for them.

Okay - okay - I guess I just need to let them go.

You know, I wasn't this much of a packrat before I started Stamping!!!! hahaha Now it's hard for me to get rid of anything.

I will keep one for using as a palette and recycle the rest of 'em. Thanks everyone for helping me declutter!!!!

I loved the idea of using it as a ribbon holder, but right now, all my ribbon is on spools so I wouldn't be able to use them this way. But maybe in the future, afterall, the more rubber I buy, the more CD cases I use.

Thanks!
