Just curious what everyone does with the cards that they make?
I love to make and make and make and my pile of cards is just continuing to grow. So just thought I would ask around...
Thanks and anxiously awaiting,
Tracy
I bet we all have way too many stacks. I never stamp anything on the inside until I go to use it. Then I can do a quick verse from Versatile Verses or just a "Happy Birhtday" etc
I do use them eventually - I like to give out cards for lots of little occations too. great for the times you forget someone's birthday at work. Keep a few spares in your desk! I even made a quick envelope out of the office stationery.
I have read where gals donate them to their churches, and of course the troop collections were a great idea.
I have never sold any, but I guess wouldn't be against it. I just tend to give them away!
I usually send them out as RAKs! I've got a box that I keep a lot of my extra cards. But, my mom, sister, cousin, g-ma and aunts usually get to them before it ever gets full!
I do all of the above (Keri, the box is ready to go, I didn't get it out before my surgery but I will soon...!).
Last year our stamp club got together and made dozens and dozens for a local veterans's retirement home. I took them down to the director who planned on making sure each resident got one. We made sure to make enough extra to last them for awhile.
Anyone interested in sending them this way click the link under my signature and you can read all about a great little program we are just getting off of the ground!
As to my cards - i send lots, sell some, give them as gifts and use them to send to kids facing serious illness through a site called Post Pals. The american equivalent site can be found at www.makeachildsmile.org
Its a great way to have fun making cards and use them to bring a smile and some joy to some very courageous children.

Sometimes I package them up for gifts. Right now I am saving them to take to a nursing home near our house. I'm sure their days will be brightened by some cards!

I am constantly giving gifts of 6-8 cards in a cello bag. My two boys each have 3 teachers and with Christmas, teacher appreciation week, birthdays, and end of the year, it does add up. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law also both love receiving cards already made up - they dabble with stamping just enough to appreciate having them all done.
My church has a card ministry that is to uplift those on the prayer list. I am also going to try to start with the support the troops program.

I haven't done this because it requires a commitment that I'm just not able to make at this point, but I heard of this program on another site. You become a one-way pen pal to someone going through chemotherapy (which is why they aren't able to write back). Sounds like a great program to me.
I mail between 25-40 cards a month, since all my family lives all over the globe, and then mail about 20 post cards a month....i also TRY To make some for gifts, i just gave some to my sons teacher and she seemed happy. I feel awkward giving them as gifts though....
