Default What do you do with your scraps?

I keep all my scraps in a box. I find it very difficult to use them. I have to thumb through them and its a pain in the b#%&. What does everyone else do with their scraps, how do you organize them?

Thanks
laurie

I also have them in a box, and i just leave it all in there. Sometimes its a pain but when I have friends come over for a SBing night I let them have at my scraps. It helps keep them under control.
If I am working on a particular project or album I usually have those scraps seperate in a folder that way I know what is exactly in there and i'm more likely to use them up as I continue to work.

I have mine in a plastic organizer with short sides. Its easy to see what I have that way. There are several sectioned off bins and I have them by color family... pinks in on, blues in another, greens in one, yellows... and then there is a place for the "long" scraps.

I bought it at JoAnne's a few years ago. Works fantastic. I retrieve scraps easily from it.

Maybe I should take a pic and post it.

I keep mine in ziploc baggies. I have a file box thathas all my paper in file folders. I just put the baggies in with the same color paper.

My Granddaughter who is 12 just loves to stamp and make cards so I give a lot of my scraps to her. She has made some really cute cards.

I keep all the color family (EE, BB, SS, RR) scraps together in separate manila folders and file it in my filing cabinet with my paper. That way, when I'm making a card in a certain color family, I can find those scraps quickly. It also helps me to remember to look in my scraps when I pull the full sheet of paper out for my cards.

I have a plastic file box I bought at Office Max. Inside it I have a pendaflex folder (with a tab for the color name) for each color along with a plastic page protector which I store all my scraps in.

Right now all of mine are thrown in a box, it's a mess. Yesterday I bought a hanging file box with hanging folders to keep all my SU papers in. I'm going to sort my scraps & put them in the front of the full sheets of paper. Maybe I'll start to use the scraps more.....????

I have a Cropper Hopper thing on wheels. It holds several hanging files, which I have organized by color. I just wheel it out from under my craft table and pick a scrap. It also has a shelf under the file holder and a slot to hold idea books, magazines, etc. If you have the room for one, it is a great investment and keeps your scraps in one place. The newer ones are made of metal, mine is older and made of plastic. I think Michael's sells them. I'll try posting a link so you can see a picture. The newer one holds 12x12 hanging files, mine is not as tall and holds 8 1/2 x 11.

I keep them at the front of each color of cardstock as I use them for little embellishments: Here's a example using small pieces of green galore:

I keep mine in gallon-sized zip lock bags according to color family, USwhite & Vanilla together, Glossy and other specialty papers in their own baggie. I keep them in sight so I remember to look in there first.

I bought 9x12 zip lock bags on E-bay.
I printed out 2x4 inch computer labels identifying the family and color of cardstock. I keep my full sheets of cardstock in the front and throw the scraps in the back of each.
Savs me so much time.
