I'm curious what you have in your crafting supplies that has sat unused for a year or more yet you still don't want to part with it. Why do you hang on to it?
Here's my list Crimper - Unused for at least 2-3 years. I hang on because nothing else does this and just maybe I'll need it. Stampin' Pastels - At least 3 years. Never really used these much but they came in my starter kit waaaay back in the day. Glass Ornaments - I think I want to use them but am never happy with the results so there they sit. Someday I'll see "the perfect sample" in the gallery to case. Eyelet Setter - Over a year since I've had my Cropadile yet I just hang on... not even sure why!
Whats collecting dust in your house?

What is that? Is it the thing that uses wide decorative staples?
That reminds me I also have the Making Memories grommet setter too.
Yeah, it sets the wide decorative staples. I have about 4 packs. I love the look of the staples but it seems to be near impossible to get them exactly where I want them!
There has to be some trick to it but dang if I can't figure it out. I keep trying though.
My original quickutz and alpha sets, a bunch of decorative scissors, a ton of brass stencils, stickers, a variety of ink pads from different companies that I bought years ago when I first discovered stamping..I bet alot of them are too dried up to use.
I have a whole list of things I still plan to use... just haven't gotten around to it! Here's a few...
Glimmerz
Alcohol inks
smooch ink
twinkling H20's
lots and lots of stamps!
Even more ribbon than stamps!
I have some tools/items that I only use once in awhile, so I keep them. But the ones I really need to get rid of are:
Fastenator - never can set the darn things straight
Memory Makers tag maker - bought them really cheap, but never think to use them
Stampress - this is now in the yard sale bin
embossing paste - love the look, but not craz about the mess
Glitter - I mostly use Stickles
Brass Templates and light box - replaced by embossing folders
silent setter - replaced by Big Bite
Distress embossing powders
Most of my other colored embossing powders (need to keep clear, black, gold, silver, and white). Oh and I need to keep red and pink. The pink is amazing on black paper.
Not to much...I dumped most of all that stuff last year to my Niece for her Pre-School class...I still have a few more of those *got to have* never use items hanging out in the cupboard...
Fastenator and boxes of fancy, cute staples...
Several alphabet sets...
paper and cardstock...
etc...
etc...
We all have them somewhere stashed for *future* use!

Yeah, I can identify with the light box. I don't think I've used it even once since I bought it "on sale" at a craft convention :>) I also have marbles, crayons, the triple-tag punch (monstrous thing), alphabet stamp sets (2 of those suckers), brass templates. That's all I can see in my going-to-sell-one-of-these-days box :>)
Oh you all are talking about stamping. I was gonna say my husband, or mop LOL.
Sorry, back to your regularly scheduled thread;-)
:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:Hahahahaha!!! Love it!
How about:
The 20 or so pairs of decorative edge scissors I have!!
The 8 million stickers that are even sorted by occasion in a portfolio thingy
All the crap from the dollar store that for whatever reason seems like a find at the time, but then... whoa!!... looks like it came from the dollar store when I pull it out to use it and so it ends up back in the drawer
Brass templates and a light for embossing that my cousin gave me
My gazillion eyelets and the half-dozen setters I seem to have somehow accumulated
All the paper from those huge "Slab" packs at Michaels that seemed like such a good deal at the time (I think I have at least 3 of them)... and a lot of Michaels cardstock I bought before figuring out that it's kinda crappy
The Fiskars shape cutting thing (with 2 cutters) and the dry embossing thing... and all the associated paraphernalia.... Oh! and the oval cutting templates they also sell... (I am NOT allowed to buy oval nesties.... I am NOT allowed to but oval nesties... I am NOT...lol)
2 sets of letter stamps. To be fair, I do only have 1 I paid more than $1.50 for. The other was a Michaels bargain bin buy.
GLUE STICKS!
Halloween stamps
The list could go on and on... and I've only been doing this for a few years! Good grief!

I guess I'd have to say the hundreds of chipboard shapes and letters. Since I have a Cricut and a Big Shot, I usually just cut my own letters. I keep saying I'm going to use them, but....

I just made my first card with the stampin pastels! I have had these babies for 5 yrs. I could never make anything look good with the pastels till I saw GinaK Stamp TV video.

I had a good laugh at this one!!!
punches: tons of them, weight not amount, that was before Spellbinders.
brass templets and light box: What to do with them now?
Stickers: never used many when I first bought them but that was the going thing at the time.
ribbon, paper and ink/markers of all types: used but not as fast as I collect.
If I name too much more I will have to clean it all out.....and get rid of it!

There has to be some trick to it but dang if I can't figure it out. I keep trying though.
I have an idea for this:
Mark the holes on the paper and poke them with a paper piercer. One way to do this is to tap the staple on an ink pad and then press it to the paper to mark the holes. Poke w/paper piercer. If the fastenator staples are wider, you could just slice the lines w/an exacto.
After you poke the staple through, turn the paper over and use a popsicle stick to bend the edges back.
I do this all the time. The staples go exactly where you want them. (I got the ink pad idea from Erin Lincoln. Before that I was laying the staple next to the spot where I wanted it on the paper and marking it with a pencil.)
Also, with the grommets, just use a hole punch to make the hole instead of the tool. I took a class w/a Making Memories person once and this is what she suggested to do. Make the hole, insert grommet, turn paper over, and use popsicle stick to bend back tines.
Hope this helps someone use some supplies that just gathering dust!
I would have said my pastels up until about a month ago. Then I found out how amazing they look when you stamp with white craft ink on dark cardstock and sponge over it with the pastels. Gorgeous! Oh, and I also used them on a tile at my last scrap camp. We clear embossed the big flowers from Inspired by Nature on the tile, and then colored over it with the pastels. Some of the girls used Medallion instead. It looked really cool too.

oooooooooooo, good idea Helen! I am going to have to give that a try and if it works, I'll keep the staples and toss the fastenator (or more likely, give it away and let someone else try and figure the thing out. LOL)

I rarely use my SU pastels but I have also found some great ideas for using them. I at rare times use my cropadile. I only have a very few colors of eyelets but I use them once in a while. I actually would still like to get a light box. I have one or two brass templates I've never been able to use because I haven't gotten a light box. I enjoy embossing this way. I do have a cuttlebug too. That's about it.

I have an unbelievable amount of rubons. Today I put a new dresser in craft room for my fabric. It is white and kinda plain, so I took out my rubon Box, and put on the ole dresser. Looks really cool. Maybe you all can do this with your bounty of stickers? Or even stamps? I also have stampin pastels and other chalks. what am I gonna do with them? never use chalk. can we make them into candles? LOL

ROFL!!!!! Very funny - I almost spit my fresca on the computer!
I use my crimper often - why don't you guys ever use it? I love altering altoid tins. I cut a 12" by 1/2" strip of paper & crimp it. I use that strip to cover the side of the tin - very cute and easy!
I could get rid of a ton of glitter - stickles are easier for me
micro beads - hate the way they bounce all over
perfect pearls - don't think I ever used them
my stampamajig - sorry, I just never got the hang of it
I have a drawer of old tombow markers -- they could go in a heartbeat.
not to mention the gazillion stamps that haven't seen ink in a month of Sundays.
Seriously, Bev??
I love my red Sizzix. I use it every day w/ nesties, cuttlebug, even Sizzix dies. I'm so afraid it'll break, then what will I do. I paid probably $15 for it at JoAnn's a long time ago. I've come up w/ all these different techniques w/ it that I just don't think would work near as well on the other machines where you roll the plates thru. If you ever decide to get rid of it, let me know. I visit in Dallas at least a couple of times a year.
I do use my crimper lately for cupcake cards.....I crimp the bottom half of the card or maybe the "cupcake paper" and pop it up because after all, a cupcake liner is crimped right?!
OMG where do i start lol I have so many things that i dont use here are a few...
Hot-Tool
craft cd roms
loads of paper
wooden score-board
LOADS of stamps
shaped scissors
promarkers
gel pens
keepsake emboss to impress board
whispers pens
fiskas shaper plus two boards
bind-it-all
quilling stuff
cosmic shimmer powders
tons of cutting dies
oh the list could go on and on..i am still a bit of a sucker when it comes to fads in craft,i love to buy new stuff but just never seem to use it lol xx jo xx
Everything I ever bought..No seriously if it makes it's way into my craft room it will
rarely make it out LOL. I am very good about returning unused purchases though..
I took back my unopened Cropadile and got a store credit. It was a had to have lol

I never pick up my perfect layers tool. Actually those little things are so thin that I loose them in my drawer for months on end. But I should try to sell it.
I sell my stuff twice a year. Huge clear out. So I don't really have too much other stuff that doesn't get used.
