You want a good laugh? I left SU because I thought spending $100 per month to meet my min was outrageous. Much cheaper to be an Angel, I thought - but I didn't know about all the wonderful specials which would tempt me......... surprise box, anyone?
Kay, being an Angel sounds good to me too. Its gotta be nice to have wings ;)
If I dont get someone else to start helping me meet my mins, I may have to make the switch too
I have one big $300 purchase (I decide between SU and TAC) I make every year either for xmas or my birthday. Some months I spend nothing, and other months, are bigger. All in all though it probably adds up to about $80 a month.

I spend between $50 and $75 a month. My husband doesn't say anything, we have separate accounts. But, he is more of an enabler than I am. For Christmas last year he bought me a $300 craft robo and lots of goodies for it! So no complaints here, I can really spend what I think I can afford.
I tend to rotate my hobby spending between stamping/art, dance, and Tarot. Right now I am focusing on art. I'd say supplies only $50 to 100 per month. Probably double if you add in the cost of art/stamping classes and retreats. Of course, I don't have the expense of children (although my "geriatric" cat's perscription diet is kinda pricey) and my BF and I keep our finances separate so I only have myself to account to.
Ha! Last night I started to set up my craft space. Until then everything was boxed in the cellar. Now I look at everything and think, "Where did this all come from?" I would say I average about $50 a month. My sister is just getting into it, so I am trying to get her to buy things I don't have so we can share.
I think on average I spend $100/month. I spend some more and then some less depending on the occasion. Like Saturday, I spent $60 in the LSS. However, it was materials for a baby shower gift. This Christmas I made a pact with myself to use existing supplies so all I spent was the money for the stamp sets I wanted to use. I am making more of an effort to use existing supplies. We'll see how long it lasts

Enabler! LOL

Oh, I have been so bad. I used to spend about $100-$150 a month. This past year -- with getting the Cricut Expressions and re-organizing my craftroom I think I have upped it about $1500 extra so far this year. I am trying to cut back but having serious trouble staying off line, out of M's and HL - I think I may need an intervention soon!!! Somebody help me!!!!!
My husband is wonderful and never, ever says a word - even when he sees me carrying bags in the house everyday!! Of course, that may be because we made a pact many, many years ago - I won't ask about his beer and fishing gear budget if he won't ask about my stamping budget!! LOL
But at this moment guilt is hovering over me as I just went to HL during my lunch break and spent another $60. Of course, I can justify that - honestly I can (HAHAHA) I bought supplies for a friend who is about to lose her house and car. She has a 14 month old and has wanted to start scrapbooking but has no money to spend on supplies. A few of us at work are trying to get a nice, starter-box put together for her. So while we all overspend - it's important to keep things in perspective and have a caring, sharing heart. Maybe we should start a campaign to cut maybe 10% off our stamping allowances for the month and give it to a charity or someone in need!!!! Just a thought!!

Well, I'm not going to give you a number because i don't have one and the longer i do this the smaller the numbers become. I have been known to walk out of a store 100's of dollars lighter in the checkbook but, then again i tend to toss my coupons because i also walk out of craft stores empty handed too.
I look at it this way.
I have a job, ( it pays OK) I have no other vices, and none what i have is not paid for...
My DH has "Hunting both riffles and bow, Fishing, Scuba diving (padi dive master level), Wrights metal detecting,) and other general hobbies that require bigger funds then i could possibly blow on paper and ink and stamps.
And he is very aware of that
and buys me what ever i decide i "need" or want.
I think its harder when you first start out doing something like this because you really do need quality tools and if you sacrifice that buying cheap tools to have more tools in the beginning to use, its very frustrating when they break and you have to replace them right away.
Hang in there, I'm sure you'll see the numbers start going down sooner or later.
Hmmmmm, I don't think I want to add it up......I'm in denial too! Since I already have soooo many stamps, I'm trying to NOT buy as many stamps and concentrating on accessories.......that DOES include the Big Shot and Nestabilities, Copics., etc........So I think I spend.....ummmm.......Nah! I don't want to know.

Hey, it could be worse. Instead of being stamp addicts, we could be addicted to crack...that's a lot more expensive. (or so I've heard on Dr. Phil.)

Hee Hee! My DH's hobby is cars.....I'll never catch up to what he has spent on his hobby.

Oh no Ann we don't included them, they are tools, they don't count.
Yup WAAAAAAAYYYYY more! I think that is why he doesn't complain. I do have a card sale once a year at my home and that generates some so I have my own play money....I know he likes that best.
I did get a standard poodle to match a car part! DH got a Paxton Supercharger and I got Gabby.

I just had to be nosey and read this one! I used to spend a lot when I scrapped and stamped with a friend who was SU! demo and a huge enabler. Now I scrap with different friends and have been spending way less. I actually haven't bought anything in awhile b/c I am trying to use up some of my "stash."
What a great question! As I read through the posts I tried to think about what I spend. I would have to guess it can go as high as $200 a month. YIKES! And a little while ago I just ordered a Scor-Pal. Hmmmm...I might have to reign it in a little, eh? But, probably not!!
I try to keep it around $50, max $100. It's a hobby and one that lets me tap into my underused creative side. I get pure enjoyment from creating something unique (even if it's cased  ). Though I'm a SAHM, I work part time a few hours a week, and that pays for my crafting and photography hobbies.
I'd spend less if I didn't do a monthly stampers group with my Demo, but then I wouldn't have the creative outlet and inspiration I get there.
Frankly, I spent more on less when I was working full time (before kids) - shopping at lunch, buying clothes, etc. This is more rewarding :-D
It varies by month, but I'd say an average month is $100.00. This month I'm way over that and I expect December to be high, but January will probably be zero.
You all have made my day. Just mailed my Visa bill off -- over $800 for craft supplies. Don't want to think about December's. Of course with after Christmas sales I could easily top that.
Just wondering, do we need a 12 step program for our addiction?

Only if we go into debt or fail in our obligations to our family/children to be fed, clothed, educated, and sheltered. In other words, only if we behave irresponsibly.

So that means I'm a "functioning craftaholoic"...no one has lost their job or failed to be fed, clothed, educated or sheltered...but I still love my vice and really don't WANT to give it up.
I don't really know...LOL! I love having what I need and all the new toys close at end...you know, just in case I need them and get inspired!
That's right! The right tools for a job make it so much easier to accomplish the intended goal. My goal is to have one of everything that I like and want...so far I'm doing ok.

No crap, I'm right there with you sister on that one....can you say 2 surprise boxes? And HOW can I resist the bundle of stuff they have coming out that we can preorder and the monthly deals? HOW????

there ya go! this is a beautiful way to phrase it...
( much better then i have an rubber addiction)
which raises a few eyebrows in mixed co.
:-D
It varies from month to month...also depends on what's for sale or what new releases are. I guess it probably averages to about $150-200/month. I have cut back on other splurges such as clothes, movies, purses, etc so I probably don't spend anymore than I used to...just on different stuff now.
Loved the comment on cutting back on other stuff. I am carrying a summer purse that really looks ratty. I need Scor-Pal more. Besides I think my daughter has a reject that will do. One must get priorities right!!!

FUNCTIONING CRAFTAHOLICI love it. That is me for sure.

New purses, shoes and clothes are highly overrated.....besides who needs them when you shop online and hole up in the stamp room all day! ;-)
Not to make you spend more money but I just posted an enabler alert in the announcements! ;-)

I just have to ask this...When we list what we spend each month, is it like when we tell someone how much we weight...we say 125, but it's really 150. (in my case it's more, but I'm not gonna lie here in front of all of you honest people..lol)
I honestly don't want to look at Quicken and see what I've spent in the last year on average per month...the shock may be too much for me!
