I have a coworker who has started treatment for an extremely aggressive form of breast cancer. I am making her some thank you notes with the "Think Pink" stamp set from MTF. I will put them in a bag with envelopes, stamps and a pen.
Any thing else I should include?
Thanks
Susanne
I did check with another coworker before I started to be sure that the first would appreciate notes with a breast cancer theme as opposed to just flowers.
What about an address book just for her? Then she'd have something nice to keep for herself. Or a notebook even. That would be a nice addition I think.
How about an altered pocket calendar to keep track of Dr visits, etc. Maybe with an inspirational verse or saying on it.
Here's one I altered that I found at Kmart for $1.49.:
If you need something else then maybe a wordsearch or similar - I don't do crosswords/sudoku but I would do wordsearches - something you can concentrate on but it doesn't need you to focus fully to complete it
With treatment she is probably feeling very awful so I would include an envelope flap moistener you can get them at any office supply store (this so she does not taste the glue, might make her sicker), stamps so she does not have to worry about going to the PO and definately, like others have said, a notebook of some kind.
my aunt didn't have breast cancer she had luekemia but she complained about the taste in her mouth I guess metallicy? maybe adding some hard candy or something to sweeten her taste buds?
Having had two daughters who went through chemo --one for breast ca and one for ovarian ca. all of the above suggestions have been great, particularly the communication items, Just keep in mind that all aggressive chem causes SEVERE nausea/vomiting so no food products. bathing products ok with light scents. By the second treatment hair loss can occur so bandanas (bright and cheerful) are useful. Margie
I too work with a woman who went through aggressive treatment about 2 years ago. (Doing well now). I immediately made her Thank You Notes. I even when as far as printing off her return address onto labels. And I gave her the stamps! Knowing her energy would be low, I think it important to give a complete package so she has to think about the details less. I also gave her a journal so she could write down her thoughts and feelings. Later she told me it was all very wonderful.
Best Wishes to your friend.
Wow, such great ideas. I would never have thought of something to moisten the envelopes with. I can easily make return address stickers, and I should be able to make her a journal of some type quickly. She has her second treatment on Tuesday, so I hope to have these ready quickly, but the stamp set hasn't arrived yet.
I do have the CTMH ribbon stamp, so I can at least get something going.
I just got finished with treatment for aggressive breast cancer and I got to the point where I didn't want to see another pink ribbon. Make sure she doesn't feel that way. She may appreciate pretty flowers on the cards and journal with perhaps a pink ribbon on the back of the item where you put your "created by" type stamp. Just a thought.

Eyebrow Pencil... I volunteer for look good feel better and when the ladies used the eyebrow pencil... they all said how much better they felt... they had lost them due to chemo... maybe a funky scarf too... and I understand that skin can get dry... amybe some neutral scented lotion. HTH and prayers to her
An altered blank book (sheets w/out lines are good in case she/someone else wants to draw as opposed to write). She can journal her thoughts and/or let others write notes to her. I have a friend who had a similar situation and her friends and family took turns writing notes to her in it. 5 years later she still treasures it!
