What are H2O's? I've seen posts about them, but have never been able to read what they actually are. I've seen cards posted saying they've used them, but I can't tell what the effect is supposed to be.
Fill me in on this "have to have" item! Thank you very much!
Did you ever use Radiant Pearls? Twinkling H2O's are similar, except they are in cake form, sort of like watercolors. You use an Aqua Brush or a paint brush dipped in water. They are vibrant and have a lovely shimmer, which ufortunately does not show up well in photos.

I have a question? So wouldn't you get the same effect by using pearl-ex & dipping into floor wax? How the H20's was described sounds just like the effect you get with pearl-ex & floor wax.
Yes, pretty much the same effect but simple. The H2Os come in little pots that you can just dip your aquapainter or wet brush into. When you are done with a color you can just close it up and let it dry out until next time. The 5oz pots last a really long time and come in lots and lots of colors. I thought I'd just stick with pearl ex until I tried the H2Os at a conference. I love the simplicity of using them.

Well they sound lovely, I'm going to have to try this. So SU sells H2O's? I don't ever recall seeing them in the catalogue, but then again, that catalogue is so huge, I'm sure there's lots I haven't seen!
Thanks to Beate's latest gallery contribution, I've just returned from www.wilde-ideas.com and ordering a 24 pack AND a 6 pack! LOL I can't wait to get them......though it will likely be around Christmas before they arrive!!
Can't wait to give them a whirl on some IFB flowers...

I've used both Radiant Pearls and H2O's (I'm no expert, that's for sure). The RP were messy and took a long time to dry. The H2Os are like using any dry watercolor. The RP gave a more transluscent effect and H2O's a bit more opaque IMO. I haven't used my RP in a long time so I can't give much more of a comparison.
Does everyone know that the H2O's can also be painted on your stamp and stamped for a very cool effect? Saw this demo'd by the manufactuerer and did a little make'n'take. Start with the paints not too wet. Paint a variety of colors on the stamp (they demo'd last time with something similar to Lovely as a Tree and Petal Prints) and stamp onto the cardstock. You can stamp several times without re-applying paint. When it seems to start being too dry just very lightly mist the stamp with water and you can get several more images. The first time I saw it demo's they were using linen cardstock only and said that worked best. I saw it again recently and they had also begun using matte coat and even some glossy black cardstock from Judikins. It was gorgeous on the black!
Oh and Shirley - if you really like RP I'd suggest you just buy a 6 pack of the 5 gram pots of H2O's and try them out. You can always use them along with your RP's.
Another tidbit - the demo recommended using the color oyster to blend with any color to make a lighter shade of the color. So if you are very artistic and want to do a lot of blending then definitely get that color!

I just tried them as a base for dominos. They work. It won't look like they will but once they dried....they stick. I am very excited about these wonderful colors.

Beate - that's really intertesting. At the manufacturer demo they said the twinkling H2Os wouldn't really work on dominos. I did a domino make'n'take with their other product - Primary Elements. It's a powder than can be mixed with one of several mediums. I know they have 1 for glass and one for plastic and I'm not sure what else. I'll try to post the domino later. Primary Elements is really cool stuff, but I thought it was for more of a serious artist. Cool that the H2O's worked for you!!!!
Beate -- did you prime your dominoes with something first (like gesso)? Or did you soak them in bleach? Just curious. I've been thinking about trying H2Os out on dominoes and would love to learn from your experience! Thanks so much!
I used the H20's at a workshop last summer and thought I would just use my pearl-Ex/Gum Arabic mixture which makes pear-ex a caked watercolor paint like H20's but I am really disappointed that I didn't buy the H20's when I had the chance...pearl-ex are nice...but I think the mica pigments in H20's are even more shimmery.
My dominos were soaked in bleach before. When I applied the H2Os it didn't look like they would stay, but they did once they dried.
Did anyone try to use them with Future floor wax yet?
