Default What Are Some Good "Retro" Colors???

I got my martini glass stamps yesterday and am ready to send out some cards but not real sure what SU colors would go together for the "retro" look. I guess I'm just too young! (NOT!)

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I made a card with a martini glass stamp last week. I used Green Galore and Brilliant Blue CS. Are these retro colors?

I was on a color drought for some time and visited all the popular paint sites to see how they put their colors together. I think this site would be the best one to help you with that retro color group you are looking for:

http://www.sherwin-williams.com/diy/.../interior.html

Mouse over the last one to select "suburban modern" then click on "view possible palettes". I am sure you can pick out SU! colors that "match" what they suggest.

Depends on your idea of retro, I imagine. How about pink passion and green galore, real red and only orange or positively pink and only orange. When I think of retro, I think of Pucci colors....maybe it's just me!

My memory of "60's colors" (which I assume you are talking about) are:

pink and brown
pink and black
light blue and brown
turquoise and lime green
gold and olive green

If you go to the gallery and do a search on "retro," 240 samples come up, many using these color schemes using SU! colors that work great. Enjoy! Linda

There's a card in "classic convertibles" that used tempting turquoise, cameo coral and chocolate chip.

Have fun!!!

I think everyone's idea of Retro may be different.
When I hear Retro, I think 1950's.
That makes me think of pink and black.
But that's just me!

NY Nan: Good point! I think I was thinking 50s, 60s, 70s (really narrows it down, hugh)? Funky color combos I guess!
