Default What Sympathy verse to use...

I am making a sympathy card and do not have many verses for the insides of the cards. I have Friend to Friend and the one that sounds like it might work is: "Hope is the thing with feathers--That perches in the soul--and sings the tune without the words--and never stops--at all." Does this sound okay for a sympathy card? The only other verses set that I have is Versatile Verses & Cheery Chat and neither seem to have anything appropriate! Any Suggestions?

I think that the "Hope is the thing..." verse is appropriate. Before I got a sympathy set, I used "thinking of you". You could also print a Favorite verse on your computer and glue it inside.

Default Verse

There have been other requests like this. I have bookmarked one of them, and wish I knew how to include the "link" here - don't have a clue! But I just did a search, using the arrow by search on the blue line above these messages. I used the word "verse" - there are several threads that might give you some sources. The particular thread I referred to was last posted on May 8, called "verses for cards" and had some web sites that have many verses.

I have been cutting and pasting them, then print the one I like on the inside of the card before I stamp the front. I think it is versalog.com that I use a lot. Hope this helps, and good luck.

My favorite quote for a sympathy card:

Ah--why should we wear black for the guests of God?
