Question What would YOU do on the cover??

Hello all -

I had the crazy idea to make eleven scrapbooks for the kids I chaperoned on a trip to FL. The trip was for our Young Astronauts, who are sixth graders, and spent the year studying the NASA Space Program. We visited the Kennedy Space Center, the Astronaut Hall of Fame, Epcot, etc. It was a great trip.

I have the insides of the scrapbooks all but done. I just happened to have eleven of those target scrapbooks from a couple of years ago (I'm such a buy-it-and-someday-I'll-find-a-purpose-for-it-later person - LOL) They look like this one (that has been decorated already) I found in the gallery:Target Dollar Spot-Paper Scrapbook by mggoldintx at Splitcoaststampers

Does anyone have any grand ideas for decorating the cover? There is the 'hole" in the cover, and I have left the first page blank.

The 'fun' of this project has long begun to wear thin ... any maybe relatively simple ideas???

Please share a thought - I'm losing my steam quickly!!

I made several of these scrapbooks a few years ago for Christmas presents. They were themed for our annual family trip to cut down our christmas trees. I just covered the front with pre-printed paper and put a group photo in the hole. You could always put the name of the person or the group with stamps or rub-ons. kim

Thanks for the reply. Did you sand the edges of the cover after you put the paper on?

And I see you are from Manchester... NH has such fun memories for me. DH and I honeymooned in NH, and stayed a friend's home on Squam Lake. Gosh that was 15 years ago this fall. Wow. Thanks again!!

i love the printed paper idea. you could also stamp the cover with stars... or the star wheel... then preprint a title on your computer and mat it on the inside page. You could even get all the boys to sign their names around it... kinda like a year book?

Actually I was thinking just some sponging on the edges and maybe tie some twill tape around the cover? that would be even easier than covering with paper. You could add a tag with the student's name. Just print on the computer and use a tag punch to punch around the name. Maybe gorls would like ribbon instead of twill and some ribbons on the spirals? With name stamped?
