Brushstroke at that...a DOUBLE alphabet. For my first set, I'm amazed I bought any more stamp sets to mount. Guess I do love Stampin' Up, because I can't keep away!
Delightful Doodles! It was a hostess set then...I agreed to have a party for a girlfriend who was a new-ish demonstrator, though I assured her I was not crafty myself. I got Delightful Doodles free for having the party, and starting goofing around with it and a ColorBox option pad from Michael's. Well, you all know how the slippery slope is. Now I'm a demonstrator after 2 years of being my friend's great customer!

LaBullard, Is that Mr. Darcy (a.k.a. Colin Firth) in your avatar? Pride and Prejudice is absolutely my favorite movie ever, just watched it a few days ago when I was depressed and hubby was out-of-town! That's a terrific avatar!
LaBullard and Laurie...thumbs up for P&P and the fabulous, gorgeous Colin Firth! (my avatar as well!)

Mine was Espress Yourself! I went to a workshop just to support a friend, thinking I would NEVER enjoy rubberstamping. I got the one stamp set, put my order in with another girls and got Painted Garden free, and booked a workshop to get more free stuff. Two months later, I was a demonstrator!!

My first set was Business Memos. I bought it about 4 years ago. I sold for another party plan line (House of Lloyd/Christmas Around the World) and bought it to use in my business. I swore I was not going to get hooked. Then the new catty came out that summer and I went to my demo's kick-off and decided to make my Christmas cards. Then I got hooked. When my other company went out of business, I waited a year and then signed up 2 1/2 years ago. Now I own tooooooo many sets!!
I will have to say, that my first sets came free, I was the first my group to have a workshop. $850 workshop later, I don't remeber all the stamp sets. Bold Blossom Greetings stands out to me, no paper, no inks, no cutter, what was I thinking? :? What was my demo thinking? Needless to say she is my 2nd upline, and that was February of 2001. I have been a demo now for 2 years and 4 months, and am totally addicted!!

I bought 5 sets, the only 2 that I can remember the names are Holiday Sampler and Itty Bitty Background. The others have been retired and the heck if I know what their names are. That was back in '98 and it was another 6 years before I bought anther set! Now I can't get enough.
Mine was Sketches. I was so disappointed when I became a demo and it didn't come out in the new catalog....and SO happy when I saw Seaside Sketches & Summer by the Sea.
Still wish I could demo Sketches
My very first SU set was Button Bear. I still use this one a lot. This is also a favorite of my day care kids to use. The wood block this stamp is on tells you how much this one has been used by how black it is!!
Sketch it! Thought it was really versatile as it has words as well. I still use it every now and then - good for Valentines! My first hostess gift was Border Builders and I mentally thank me demo for suggesting it, every time I use it - which is fairly often - also good for Valentines and Spring
I just can't remember which was first.... I got out my old OLD cattys and looked through. My aunt got me started in 98, but we would emboss over the stove when I was in 4th or 5th grade and I LOVED it! Out of that first catty I had:
Angel in Flight
Not so Short Notes
Perfect Plaids (I absolutely hated this set because I always got ink from the wood on my cards!
Let it Snow
A Gift From Heaven
(I did Christmas Cards for my mom out of those last two!)
And last, but not least, Dear Tomy! It was actually titled Dear To My Heart, but the spacing on the sentiment had To and My really really close together, so it always looked like Tomy!
I know I didn't have these all at once, but I accumulated over the year. Ahh, brings back some memories, I tell ya!
I bought it and it sat for QUITE a long time before I used it. I didn't get to attend the demo and hadn't a clue what to do with it. LOL
Now, my office is overrun by stamps and accessories. I've only been a hard core stamper since last May and my family keeps shaking their head every time the little brown truck pulls up to my rural home.
Fortunately, most of the time, someone else's order is in there, so I can use that as an excuse!
LOL...
Happy reminiscing and stamping!

Mine was DD Fabulous Fruits. April, 1999. Just had to have it, you know. Then I really didn't do much with it. In August 1999, my now upline invited me to her New Catalog Open House, I won the grand prize (Cropper Hopper Tote with $50 in SU! stuff inside!) and I was hooked. I signed that day to be a demonstrator.
300+ sets later and a room 21'x11' full of the stuff. One of these days I'll get it clean enough to take pictures!
HI!
I started buying from SU in 1994 and after several large workshops and making the rounds with friends I became a demo and seriously addicted. Back when SU first started all the stamps in the catalog were not SU's, so the first stamps I bought were Floral Set (Personal Stamp Exchange) and the rest were SU's Flowers in Bloom, Krayola Kids, Carousel, What's Moo?, Label It, Year Round Fun, Clownin' Around Birthday, Decorator Shelf, Victorian Greetings and Country Cat.
As it was 5-ish years ago, I'm not 100% certain. I was in to DOTS at the time and got suckered into having a SU party, which I had never even heard of. All I knew was that they were cheaper than DOTS because you mounted them yourself.
I think it was: Fresh Flowers & Handpainted Petites.
I hated Fresh Flowers until recently when it finally clicked that I didn't have to stamp the leaves with the little curlies coming out of it, I could just mask it off. Ok, so I'm slow, lol. I'm sure my DH wishes I'd been slower at catching SU fever, now nearly 80 sets later, he still just shakes his head.
My very first set was Little Layers I. It was the first stamping demonstration I attended and was afraid it would be retired after the Summer Mini so I pinched my pennies and bought just that set. And I still love that fishie!
Mine was Holiday Sampler> I just traded it a couple months ago and then wanted it back when Christmas came along. Maybe this year it will be retired and they will come up with a new one. Well atleast one can only hope.

I think I got Romantic Rose and Victorian Lace backgrounds, along with burgundy paper - I had this notion that I would only make a few cards during the year for "girlfriends" so that would do. HAH!
