Another staples answer here....love the lil ribbon flags, but never "got" the staples thing. Looks like you ran out of stuff and grabbed the stapler in a pinch.
I'm probably way in the minority here, but I hate eyelets...I would much rather use a brad instead!! I hate setting the eyelets...it's loud and it hurts my hand after a while!
Nancy
This is one reason you need to get yourself a Crop-A-Dile! It sets eyelets just as easily as punching a hole punch! You will no longer hate them (as I started to do before I got mine!!)

I love brads.
Hi Tricia
Use the 1/16 punch to punch the hole, but to set the eyelet, you need to use the 1/8 punch.
Staples for sure! I used them on a card in a class once and my DH's comment was, "That's not you, must have done that in a class". Boy does he know me! Have tons of fiber, have only used them a couple of times but I love to look at them. LOL!

I say staples as well. A friend of mine went to a craft fair at her work and she emailed me and said that a lady was selling some stamped things with "those same stamps you use" and then she told me that the lady had cards that had been stapled and I could hear the disgust in her voice, dripping off of every typed word. I wrote her back and told her that was a "thing" in the craft world. She couldn't believe it, lol.

Hmmm....I love it all I don't use staples much but that is because no one else seems to like them. I do use them on my SB pages because they are for me. I really haven't found one that I dislike...there are some I don't do well - like shrink plastic...but I generally like it, lol!
I'm afraid there isn't anything I don't like.....and my basement craft room suffers as a result. I like staples, fiber, ribbon, hardware, buttons....anything that you can stick on a card....I'll have to think some more....maybe stickers, but I buy them to play with and stick on envelopes some times....I like the graphics, but they are never on my cards or scrap pages. (that sounded snotty , sorry)
Because no matter how I try to use it, I suck at it. I have decided that I have plenty (cough*cough) of other embellishments to use, tho, so I don't sweat it. ;)

wire makes me cry so I got rid of all of it I had..I could never get it to work right.

I like the staples! Buttons - now that's one I don't like. But, I have tons of them thinking they were so cute. I can never get them to look like they actually belong on the card!
I have three. Staples, eyelets (the crocodile looks scary to me), and buttons. I may have to try the "croc" at the store and see if you all are telling the truth about how easy it is!!! I like the look of eyelets, just can not stand the pounding.

I've got two spools of wire from a memory kit and so far have just used the end of the wire to pull ribbon through small holes and such. No idea what else I can do with wire that doesn't retain its shape. I've always wanted to make beaded Christmas tree icicles with wire but again the whole easily bent out of shape problem.
Another vote for staples as least favorite, same reason as others, looks tacky to me.
Ok, I just have to respond to those who don't like fibers, here's some samples from my gallery. Just add a few different fibers to the fold of the card, easy: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
The notched corner punch is great for adding fiber as a frame (I use tape to adhere it on back then wind it around all for corners). This works for wire also: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I have to admit, I don't use wire too often, but here is a butterfly made with wire and ribbon: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Please don't bite my head off for this one but hodgepoge hardware is something I won't waste my money on to give it to someone on a card for them to chuck after.to me it very pretty.on a card but too much money for someone to chuck away, and not think anything of it.

The Crop A Dile is great for punching through thick materials, like chipboard, thin metals, a small stack of paper, etc. But, I never use it for SETTING eyelets; I'm too clumsy and as I said in another thread, I end up knocking the eyelets onto the floor numerous times before I ever get the darn things set. I gave up using it for that, and just use it for punching thick stuff, which it does beautifully and like nothing else.
It has a limited reach, however, of about 1 1/2" max, just like any other hand-held punch. :?
For setting eyelets without hammering (hammering is still my preferred method because I just enjoy pounding things, especially when frustrated! LOL! :p ), the Provo Craft Silent Setter is AWESOME and truly silent! And, it can set anywhere, no limits. I own it and love it! :-D
Many also like the Making Memories Instant Eyelet Setting Tool, and claim it will set even hard brass eyelets (most paper-crafting eyelets are now made of aluminum).
HTH,

(I LOVE STAPLES - sorry, everyone :rolleyes. Brads are awesome, but eyelets are so difficult and time consuming to set! And I always hammer too hard and flatten the eyelet. I tried the Crop-A-Dile, but it was too big and clumsy for me. Besides, the hand action of squeezing is my least favorite motion.
OK, do not throw things at me unless it's rubber stamps;) , but I don't like glitter. I can never get it to look right and then I add more and it looks like a Kindergarten project. It's just sitting in a drawer.

Are you using chunky glitter or ultrafine? I find chunky very hard to work with . . . :? But, Ultrafine? Oh, man, can't get enough of it!

I found this thread and laughed at how many people say staples. I tried them and they look terrible on my stuff but other people seem to make them adorable!

I don't have a problem setting them. I just started using Brads and love that look. Fiber is too flimsy to use in my opinion! And it doesn't look good.
But I do like Staples and Paper Clips. I have use both of them but mostly with Ribbon.
I can get used to staples, buttons, fibers, and even tags made from Formica chips. Please don't throw spit balls at me but I really don't like cards with more than 4--maybe 5--layers of cardstock. At some point, the overuse of cardstock as embellishment makes the whole thing front heavy and just plain clunky. Anything that makes your card feel more like a bowling ball than a token of affection is over-embellishment. ;)
