I just have to join in with the rest of the Mint Melody nominations for Least Favorite.
However, I was reading through this thread and found that a number of people nominated Tempting Turquoise and Taken with Teal. It happened that I was pulling pieces from my scrap bin and those three together are not bad. I made a project using them and really liked the ocean-y, beach-y look of them together.
Yet, if MM went away tomorrow, I would not shed a tear!
I do not like Mint Medley, Ruby Red, Cameo Coral, Blush Blossom or Only Orange. I cannot live without Taken with Teal, Eggplant Envy, Creamy Caramel, Bliss Blue and Almost Amethyst.
I very much wish for a true baby yellow and a true powder blue along with a vibrant royal purple. I also would like a pumpkin color like the CTMH one.
I'm planning on getting Going Grey to do my shading when I color with the ink. I've also been stamping a LOT with my non-SU grey pad in the past. It gives softer images than black or brown does. I'll have to see if SU's grey is dark enough to give the same result as my old pad did.
My least favorite colour is definitely Mint Melody. It's so bright! It reminds me of hospital clothes and walls! I really wish SU would change this colour for a paler, softer green.
Ok, maybe I am just crazy but what I don't like is how there are so many colors that are ALMOST identical. I realize that they have their miniscule differences but really.... I would have to say that is what drives me most nuts about SU! colors.
Wow, this is an oldie! Guess I'll chime in, since I didn't when it was new.
I absolutely can't stand Orchid Opulence or Marvelous Magenta. Not too crazy about Lovely Lilac, either, but I could probably be persuaded to use the paper. I refuse to stamp with the Orchid ink, though -- tried it once, and it's horrible!

Man, I love the EE's, and use them constantly! I am not a fan of many of the soft subtles, particularly mint melody, mauve mist, blush blossom...come to think of it, the only ones I DO like in SS's are mellow moss, sage shadow and the 2 plums/almost amethyst. I also don't care for cameo coral in EE and orchid opulence in BB. Going gray is good for shading, but I don't use it very often.

Gotta be Marvelous magenta for me! I can't make it work no matter what I try! I used mint for the first time today as a layer under another and I actually liked it. Who knew?
I'm in the process of buying all the pads (3 or 4 per month) and this month I'll have all the bold brights, I like them all. I have the least of the SS, some of them look too much alike to me. I'm really debating whether I should even get the Mint Medley, Bordering Blue, and Cameo Coral. Another I'm not that crazy about is Summer Sun, I have Yo-Yo Yellow and Barely Banana and find that I just don't use yellow ink very much. Paper is another story.
I was surprised by some of the other colors mentioned on this thread, I've used the Going Gray a lot, I like to sponge with it for a background. I also love Taken with Teal, I just wish that SU had a good Seafoam Green to go with it! Someone mentioned More Mustard, 6 months ago I would have agreed and then my demonstrator showed me some ways to use it and I purchased it the following month.
Oh, and I agree about Marvelous Magenta, I have that inkpad and rarely use it. I know that color looks good with some others, but I just don't like the color.
What a fun thread! And isn't it funny how everyone has a different opinion. Except poor mint melody. I've never used it either, but I can see how it would be okay with a soft blue. I guess every colour is beautiful in the right place, but my least favs are:
glorious green -- reminds me of a billiard table
only orange -- can you say tacky plastic Halloween trinkets?
positively pink -- ack! I'm stuck in the Barbie aisle at Toys R Us
rose romance -- looks like bad 1980s hotel upholstery
pale plum -- what colour is that? plum? brown? grey?
going grey -- the cardstock looks like dead cement, but I love the ink. Remember ink colour and cardstock colour are two entirely different things.
But the others I either like or love, so that still leaves me with lots to work with. Though I'm wondering why exactly I ordered orchid opulence.

Mint Melody & Glorious Green--there are so many great greens (Mellow Moss, Gable Green, Old Olive, Green Galore, you get the picture) that I can't really find a use for these two.
Definitely goes to show how different we are...I love the Rich Regals and particularly Night of Navy and Not Quite Navy and Taken with Teal. I am starting to feel like the minority though. I have never been a pink person and on top of that have 2 boys so I really shy away from all of the rose and pink colors. My SS gave me Sweet Treats for my birthday and I used some Mint Melody with the ice cream cone. Think pistachio ice cream...yum. It's not my favorite but at least I found a use for it. It went really well with bliss blue (I think...never can keep them all straight unless I have the catalog in front of me).
I hate Glorious Green! It is so bright and like someone else said, there are so many other great greens! I even like Mint Melody better than GG! My absolute favorite color is creamy carmel...you can use it with so many different colors! And my favorite group is EE which is funny because a lot of my customers don't even use that group!

Want to hear something funny? I was reading this post with interest. . . and I came upon my own answer! It must be a recycled post pulled out of the SCS ancient history pages. The funnier part? I said that I hated Brocade Blue. But since I said that, it has *changed,* and I like it now! Mint Melody is still too strong for my tastes. And I will never truly love orange. But almost all of the SU colors are quite useful in the right situation!
You know, I have used all most all my colors at one time or another. I really used to not like the Mustard and the Rust, but even those have grown on me. I think that if I really had to choose a color that I didn't care for it would be Blush Blossom - there just isn't enough color in it for me. It's a little *too* light. However, I do find it useful when I don't want to use white!

I would think Going Gray is the color I have used leats - but I am going to try and start using it as, believe it or not, I have seen samples done with it and I'm willing to give it a whirl.
I don't think I ever use the Blush, Mauve or Amethyst either....just too light.
I'm wondering whether any of the Mint Melody haters used to like it before the color of the cardstock was "tweaked" and got a whole lot brighter. I swear the full pack I ordered a year or two ago looks more like it belongs in the Bold Brights -- there's nothing "subtle" about it anymore! :(

I have to say I don't have much use for Mint Melody either or Gable Green. I am not a fan of Glorious green either.
I usually prefer to use the Garden green, Olive, Mellow moss, Green Galore, Forest foliage, Sage Shadow if I need a green - the other 3 just don't send me and I could do without pretty much if they discontinued them!
Every other color I can actually find a use for and pretty much either love or like enough to use at least the cardstock!
mint melody and the yellows...I never use any of them :( I love the mustard shade though ;) I think I just need to challenge myself to use all 48 colors...i own them so why not use them??? right??? LOL
I have to agree with mint, but I also really don't like gloriuos green, I guess it's too bright for me. I do like hemeynell's idea of trying blush blossom with close to cocoa- I was never a big fan of it either!!
In fact, I just realized I let my little ones in the toddler Sunday School use my taken with teal and my magenta this weekend, I never would have taken in mellow moss! Maybe I don't like those colors as much as I thought - hehe!! But...my 2 older girls love magenta and taken with teal... so they get used hard.
I also like to use cameo coral, rose red, and barely banana together - just a thought for those of you that don't like cameo and rose. You may want to try it for a fun summery card.
I totally agree, Mint Melody .... ugh. It's awful. Also, IS IT JUST ME or does anyone else have trouble with the Rich Regals. I love blue but I don't think I need 6 shades of it in one set. THAT"S HALF OF THE SET!!!!
I would have to say that Marvelous Magenta is my least used color. I will have to do a search in the gallery tonight and see what others have done with it. As far as ink though - I don't care for Barely Banana. It doesn't show up at all. I like to use Mint Melody for baby cards.
my least favorite is only orange, for some reason I have always hated the color orange. (makes it interesting at halloween!, although I have now started using it with eggplant and it is at least tolerable!) I love going gray, there is sooooo much you can do with it. goes great with any of the purple or pink shades.
pink fish - I'm with you. I've only bought one set of stamp pads so far. Unfortunately I bought Rich Regals. EVERYTHING has to be made with blues. I'll probably buy pads individually from now on.
I have 2: Blush Blossom cause it doesn't really go with anything and Bliss Blue. I have 5 different shades of it in my paper rack! It's a different color each time!
Amy "Pro" K
Blush Blossom makes a nice combo with either pale plum or perfect plum and maybe some sage shadow thrown in...
I don't think Going Gray is all that useful...at least as an ink color.

SU Demonstrator...loving what I do!!
I wouldn't say I hate them, I just don't use them, but for me its Orchid Opulence and Positively Pink. I recant, I actually do hate that Positively Pink, as I've said before, it should be called Positively Pepto!!!
Yes, YES! It was better before it was tweaked. I've almost gotten used to the tweaked Bliss Blue though. :-D
A few weeks ago I used Mint Melody to make a birthday card. Last night I had to make another card using Mint Melody because I felt challenged by this post! I didn't want Mint Melody to feel unloved. Both cards are in my gallery. Thanks to whoever suggested using Mint Melody, Ballet Blue and White. Back on topic. I don't like blue much, so my least fave colors are Bliss and Brocade. But Night of Navy I really like. Go figure.
I'm going with Not Quite Navy and Perfect Plum. NQN is a bizarre shade of teal to me and Perfect Plum is so much darker than anything else in SS, too dirty. I didn't like More Mustard until I paired it with Night of Navy.
Does anyone have a before/after picture of the tweaked Mint Melody? I've never seen the old colour... I wonder if I would have liked it better.
The new MM is definitely something I can find a way to use since I already have it, but it's definitely not a colour I would miss if SU was to discountinue it or modify it... *hint hint* ;) haha
