I needed to stamp a sentiment on a navy card front today and did a practice run on the back first using my Brilliance Moonlight White, Stazon Opaque White and VersaColor White cube, and am not happy with any of them. (I know Stazon shouldn't be used on cardstock but I thought I'd try it anyway ...!) They're all wishy washy and dull! Is there such a thing as a really bright white that looks good on dark cardstock? (I know I could stamp the sentiment in Versamark and then emboss with white EP, but my white EP is packed away in a box somewhere and would take days to find! LOL We've just moved houses.)
So ...... what's THE best white non-embossing ink pad for dark card?
Thanks.

My favorite white stamp pad I have is a Hampton Art Stamps, pigment white stamp pad. I got it at either JoAnn's or Micheal's about 3 years ago when I started stamping. I love it, it dries very quickly if I just tap the stamp on the pad, if I stamp a bit heavier into the pad, it is plenty wet enough to emboss! I do have the SU white and vanilla as well, but just don't use them as much as they are very wet. But they do give great coverage as well.

Lisa is correct about the SU white. It is very juicy. If you have time and patience, it is a very good product though. I really like it and use it quite often. I was worried that it would dry out so I bought a couple re-inkers. LOL! I don't think I wil EVER use them.
I love SU's craft Whisper White. I used to have the Colorbox one from Michael's and thought that it wouldn't really matter -- but it does! The SU on is much better - and yes, it's juicy, but I like it that way.
I love my SU whisper white pad... I use it alot. And I like thaat it is so wet...I have had it for about 2years now and Have yet to need to ut any reinker into it.
Craft Warehouse has sold Blanco White Dye pads for years. VERY crisp white, dries instantly and won't smear even on vellum. It is the white dye pad that my first stamping teacher told me about a few years ago. It is such an opaque white that her snowy backgrounds on cards look like they came pre-printed.
Crazy about the SU white pad... just demo'd it this weekend and sold four!
It was a bit juicy at first, but you can either blot it with a paper towel, or just remember not to PRESS the stamp down into the pad--you have to remember it's not the Classic ink. The pads are made of different material.

I've only ever used the Colorbox Frost White pigment ink. I used it on black CS for the three Hallowe'en cards at the top of my gallery, if you want some examples. It does smear, though; I was working on a tiny table to make those cards and accidentally smeared one of the webs covering the second card in from the right, so I 'fixed' it by smearing all the webs on that card.
Woohoo for SU's whisper white craft pad.....love it! Am going to demo it this weekend, and am very optimistic that I'll sell some. Just ordered the cartridge and refill for the snowflake wheel once I realized how awesome the white is on dark cardstock.
Another vote for the SU craft WHisper White! Like previous posters have said it is very juicy so give a lot of dry time. The results are great!
HTH!

I use the SU whisper White pad too, and if I'm in a hurry I just heat set it with my heat gun, otherwise I let it sit for about 20 minutes.....longer if I have it on really thick.

I discovered that heat-setting the SU! white craft ink makes the white a little brighter! Also, keeping the pad juicy is key -- if it needs reinking the stamped image starts looking a little dull.

Thanks for your recommendations everyone! The vote seems to go to the SU Whisper White so I'll have to get that one I think.
Appreciate all your advice. Thanks.
