Default What's the best way to mail...

I've made a trade with someone and need to send one of those 12x12 scrapping kits. I am wondering what the best way to mail this is to prevent damage/bending.

Thanks.

when i buy 12x12 papers from companies and they mail to me, they usually send in the larger priority mail boxes. If you're planning on sending priority, that's an idea.

Is it still $3.85 for shipping, or does the larger box make it cost more?

I was in a 12x12 swap and I shipped mine in the thin box that the magazine binders from supply order came in. (the binder that holds all the stampin success and onstages in) It worked wonderful. When the lady shipped them back to me she just put the other 2 flaps on the outside and shipped them back. No damage at all. HTH!

It is $3.85 for shipping Priority up to 1 pound, then it goes up depending on the zone it is being mailed to based on zip codes

This is found on the USPS.com website, the envelopes are prepaid in packaging of 5 per. They are the heavier cardboard(paper) so will not bend or fold as easy as say a manilla envelope will.

"The Postal Service has issued a new, prepaid version of the Priority Mail Flat Rate envelope featuring the $3.85 Jefferson Memorial stamp image printed directly on the envelope along with the traditional Priority Mail graphics. Because the Flat Rate is a predetermined rate regardless of the weight or destinating zone of the item being mailed, customers receive one price for delivery anywhere in the U.S., regardless of what their item weighs. The prepaid version of the envelope seeks to further customer convenience by saving time and enabling an even more simplified transaction."

I'm in a 12x12 swap, and I plan to put mine inside a plastic "Craft Keeper" made by Generations (less than $2 at Michael's) for water protection, and then to place that inside a (new, unused) pizza box to mail it. I think the local Pizza Hut will probably give me one or sell one to me for very little if I ask.
