What's the gallery's new default view??

I'm a little confused. It says "custom view". What I want is to look at the samples most recent first, and in order that way. Not in order of views or popularity, etc. I want to see them ALL - newest first. Now is that how the Custom View of the Gallery is by default? And if you want to sort, then you go down to the bottom to change that? Am I right that if you choose:

Sort by: Posted Date
Timeframe: Last Day (or 3 days or whatever)
Order: Descending

then you come up with the same thing as if you just did the default??

from what i can gather, it looks like the default is the most recent. I ususally use the gallery link at the top and then from there click 1 day recent. It worked for me last night. All the pics I was veiwing first were ones I hadn't seen and the last couple pages were ones from earlier in the day.

Help! What am I doing wrong. I will select "view newest first" and it will bring up the first page then when I hit page 2 it goes back to "alphabetical". Is anyone else having this problem?? It's driving me bugggyyyyyy................
