I have used a wide range of adhesives ..some I like more than others...some I like the *sticking* properties, others I like the way it applies... Just trying to see if there is a consensus on adhesives and perhaps I may be overlooking something super fantastic.
I'm STILL a diehard fan of the Tombow Mono Adhesive. I have tried other brands over the past 6 years and I have always come back to this again and again. You can get some great prices when buying in a larger quantity through Viking Office Supplies AND free shipping of orders over $25.00 with NEXT DAY delivery!!!
For Cards: Aleene's quick dry tacky
For Scrapbooks: N/A
For Large Areas: double stick tape, I just got the TRIO and it is great
For Tiny places: glue dots
For Non-Paper Items: diamond glaze (ce SU)
For Bulky embellishments: Aleene's or diamond glaze, depending on the surface
To give dimension: pop dots
For cards I go back and forth between my hermafix tab dispenser and mono. Basically whatever I have.
For scrapbook pages it is Hermafix all the way!
For small spaces I use glue dots or run things through my small Xyron (I have the 1.5" and the 5")
For bulky things glue dots or find a creative way to attach them (like with ribbon or eyelets or something like that)
For dimensional looks the SU Stampin' Dimensionals can't be beat. You can stack 2 on top of each other if you want more height. The reason I like these is that there is less weight, they are smaller, and I have an option between just off the page or really off the page. Oh, and I always cut up the "frame" and use it as well

I tend to have a lot of adhesives around - even more since I joined SU!
* For Cards: SNAIL/mono or Anywhere Glue stick - love the glue stick!
* For Scrapbooks:Hermafix tabs (I think it's called Vario now!)
* For Large Areas:Hermafix tabs
* For Tiny places:Xyron 'X' to make them stickers
* For Non-Paper Items:mini glue dots
* For Bulky embellishments:mini glue dots - these hold so well
* To give dimension:Stampin' Dimensionals or pop-up glue dots
Use the Hermafix dots (Dotto?) for non-permanent things - like lining up stuff in a scrapbook, or putting pieces of vellum through the printer ...
I can't move away from my glue stick. Everyone I know uses tape, but I can't. I have to be able to move my paper, in case I make a mistake. I use my glue stick for all my crafts. Unless I want it to have a little height, and than I use a foam dot thingie.
For Cards: Photo tabs, which I cut in half. That's what I can get locally, so I've been using this for a while and I'm pretty satisfied with it.
For Scrapbooks: Photo tabs, too.
For Large Areas: Glue stick, on BOTH elements I'm glueing together.
For Tiny places: Mini glue dots whenever possible. My ZIG 2-way pen if I have to, but it doesn't stick as well so I tend to stay away from it as much as possible.
For Non-Paper Items: Glue lines for ribbons; Diamond Glaze for a lot of stuff; glue dots for fabric.
For Bulky embellishments: Glue dots all the way!
To give dimension: Pop-up dots or Diamond Glaze used as dimensional.
My absolut favourite for almost everything is the Scrapbook Adhesives tape runner by 3L - It is easy to use, super sticky but not so much you cannot lift and readjust.
It sticks ribbon, metal, embellishments and $$ from every sale goes to Breast Cancer. I buy it at my local SB shop.
For larger areas - I use UHU liquid paper glue (long skinny yellow tube).

I use 3m double-stick tape. Mono-adhesive doesn't seem to stick well enough for me but 3m double-stick tape is great. If I really need to make sure it's going to stick I use terrifically tacky tape.
For Cards: MonoAdhesive Permanent - it holds up to handling
Scrapbooks: Dotto Repositionable - when I'm "toying" with a layout, then MonoAdhesive Permanent once I settle on the final layout
For Large Areas: Xyron - the weight enable the piece to "pull" off of whatever I've applied it to
For Tiny places: ZIG 2-way glue pen - because they come in a variety of "point" sizes; also Xyron X - run it through and it's completely covered; also CM's mini tape runner because they have 2mm x 2mm squares of strong adhesive that's easy to apply
For Non-Paper Items: For transparencies - ZIG 2-way glue applied with the extra-wide tip because it goes on blue and if it oozes out, I can catch it; for ribbons/buttons/silk flowers - glue dots becuase their hold is unparalleled; for metal - Making Memories Metal Glue because it's a strong polymer adhesive; for Glass Tags - Crystal Effects; for Vellum - Xyron, brads, eyelets, or "nesting" into other paper without any adhesive; movement cards/boxes - Teriffically Tacky Tape because it's so strong; also like self-adhesive photo corners for certain vintage looks, but they have to be used on 90deg angles...; QuicKutz die cuts and letters: Xyron because it covers the *entire* die cut.
For Bulky embellishments: depends - see above
To give dimension: Dimensional Glue Dots - because they're glue all the way through instead of just having a "glued surface" like pop-dots.
