Thumbs up What's your FAVORITE feature of the new SCS site?

I love how when I am looking through the list of threads, I can put my mouse cursor over the thread titles and I can read the first part of the first thread without actually "going into it". Saves some time for me in some instances ;)

I also like how we can "subscribe to individual threads"! (At the top of the very first post in a thread, click on "Thread Tools" and then choose "subscribe to thread"...it's that easy!! Oh, and then to check your list of subscribed threads, click on "Quick Links" (located in the top blue colored bar) and then click on "Subscribed Threads" towards the bottom of the drop down box!

Just thought I would share my favorites (so far!!!) I would love for you to share your tips as I am sure I could learn from your favorites too!!!

TFS!

Red face my favorites are:

I also like being able to view the thread topic more in debth by having my mouse over the curser . . . definitly able to move through the threads quicker by only clicking on the ones that really interest me!

I like the "New Post" feature. . . I can click on this link and see what has been added since my lasat visit. Another time feature so I am not going through the same threads over and over!! I think we had this before, but never used it.

I also like being able to change your font and color in the threads . . . gives us all a chance to show more of our creative sides

I am learning little by little, I know I haven't tried everything, but I did like understanding how to add an avatar. It was so easy. That is my darling grandson there.

Where would I start? There are so many little cool things that I've picked up from various threads, and just poking around... I love the mouse-over on the forum threads (VERY  ); I love the easy access to profile info; the ability to chg thread views (for each individual's preference); quick links; and sending PMs (I just learned that one!).

I hate to see folks complain about the quirks and problems - I try to remember that this site is free, we get WAY more than we pay for (my DD subscription doesn't even begin to cover the benies), and SCS is doing what they can.

I look forward to the additional changes they keep hinting at!

Am I the only one that just found out you can download all (or some) of your PMs to a text file! How cool is that?

Can you tell I've had time to play?

Did you know, that while viewing ANY thread, you can choose "Thread Tools", then "subscribe to this thread".

From "Quick Links" you can view subscribed threads, and select different notification methods, or none. Subscribed threads can act like a "favorites" list and take you quickly to an interesting (subscribed) thread!

VERY cool...

I've got more than one

When looking at the threads you can tell by the icons out front if there are any new posts since you last read the thread.

Also, when entering a thread that you have read before but that their have been more posts their is a link that says something along the line of "jump to last read post". Super cool - no trying to figure out where you left off!

This is great!

..and at the top of each separate post, each posters screename, the button next to it tells you if that particular poster is on line at any given time. If it's green they are on-line! Also, if you just click on their screen name there is a drop down box full of fun things you can do too!!!

WOW!!!!!!! ;)

There are many, many, many, many things I like about the new "options" we have...but, by far, the "ignore" list & the "buddy" list are my favorites!!! ;)

One of many things I like - being able to subscribe to a thread. Helps me when memory fails!

I'm not sure what they changed on the search thingy... but it seems to work soooo much better now!!!

Does anyone know if they're going to put the top threads on the home page again?

Go to your User CP, click on Edit Options, then scroll all the way to the bottom and change the Message Editor Interface drop-down menu to Enhanced Interface. Now you will have color fonts, etc!

New posts link! New posts link! New posts link! That's a real time saver for me.

I'm going to have to look for the "jump to last read post" next time I go to one of the high volume threads - thanks for the tip.

Red face Favorite feature of SCS

I know this is off the topic and I do really like the new features, but I can't find a way to save my "Favorites." Is it right in front of my face? Thanks guys.

Default My favourite feature

My absolutely FAVOURITE feature of the new SCS website is how the URLs are ellipsed in the middle so they don't stretch out the screen no matter how long the string of text is. This HUGELY increases my enjoyment of this site!!! I really, really appreciate all of the work that was put into the upgrade, and especially appreciate this feature with the embedded URLs.

Just a question . . . does anyone else have a stretched out screen on this page of this thread, relative to how other threads look? I think it has something to do with the fancy fonts that people used in their posts on that page. My page is all stretched out, and I have to scroll back and forth to read the posts (which means I haven't really read any of the posts cos it's a PITA).
