Not really suited for a card, but I like:
"Whether you believe you can or believe you can't, you're right." -Henry Ford

Also...a lot of the quotes/sentiments that you all have posted (and lots of other good ones!) have been made into stamps by a company called River City Rubber Works. And they DO have an on-line catalogue !!

I have a few:

If God brought you to it, He will bring you thru it.

And my favorite toast (other then SKOL!!) It's a tounge twister -

Here's to it, and to it again.
If you never get to it, to do it,
You'll never get to it, to do it again!

Don't ask me what it means - but it's especially popular around New Years when some people have had a few!!!

And another one: If Life was so great, they would have called it Heaven. Great for someone going thru a difficult time. My own creation.

I gain weight just listenting to dinner music. It's from someone well know, but I can't remember who.

If you are not being criticized, you may not be doing enough. Again, from someone famous, but I don't know who.

Everyone wants to change the world, but no one wants to help Mom with the dishes. Same thing - someone we know - just don't know who.

The last 3 are taped to my computer at work. I'll have to jot down who said what and give credit where credit is due. ~Pam

I've been starting a collection of my favorite quotes - I hope to paint them on the walls of my stamping room when I get it unpacked! Here's some of my favorites:

Joy is a net of love by which you can catch souls. - Mother Teresa

The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources. - Albert Einstein

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. - Albert Einstein

Somewhere there is something incredible waiting to be known. - Carl Sagan

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter. - e.e. cummings

May you live all the days of your life. - Jonathan Swift

Determine that the thing can and shall be done, and then we shall find they way. - Abraham Lincoln

There is one thing stronger than all the armies in the world, and that is an idea whose time has come. - Victor Hugo

Education is not filling a bucket, but lighting a fire. - William Yeats

Be a life long or short, its completeness depends on what it was lived for. - David Starr Jordan

Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself. - William Faulkner

The true meaning of life is to plant trees under whose shade you do not expect to sit. - Nelson Henderson

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

What would attempt to do if you know you could not fail?

Those who have hope, have everything.

Remember, growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.

From the moment you believe you can do something, you can.

And, here's a fun poem:
Hark! Dear friend: Vain to choose or grasp unduly, broken is the perfect ball. And there are so many pieces, no one ever finds them all. The wise as on they journey treasure every fragment clear, piece them as they may together, imagining the shattered sphere. Learning ever to be thankful, though their share of it is small. Happiness has many pieces. No one ever finds them all.

Hopefully, I haven't rambled too much - enjoy!

I learned this one in high school but forgot the author....
"The measure of a man is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out."

Another favorite...
Charm is deceitful, beauty is vain. But a woman who fears the Lord shall be praised.

And along a completely different line...
Death is but a doorway. Here, let me get that for you.

My favorite is by H. Jackson Brown, author of the Life's Little Instruction Books. I believe he wrote the quotes,which turned into books, for his son as he was going off to college.

What a great thread. Love all the quotes, but I haven't seen this one yet by Mother Teresa"

"We can do no great things; only small things with great love. "

It's the closest thing to a life motto I have.

It is better to remain quiet and have people think you're dumb,
than to open your mouth and remove all doubt!

I try to remember that from day to day :oops:

This is my favorite quote, I keep it next to my computer desk and refer to it whenever I read posts where the writer sounds like a real idiot...

People are often unreasonable,
illogical, and self-centered;
Forgive them anyway ...

If you are kind, people may accuse you
of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway ...

If you are successful, you will win some false friends
and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway ...

If you are honest and frank,
people may cheat you:
Be honest and frank anyway ...

What you spend years building, someone
could destroy overnight;
Build anyway ...

If you find serenity and happiness,
they may be jealous and full of contempt;
Be happy anyway ...

The good you do today,
people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway ...

Give the world the best you have,
and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway ...

You see ... in the final analysis,
it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Mother Teresa

i know this is a poem and not a quote, but i love it.

To see a world in a grain of sand
and a heaven in a wild flower,
hold infinity in the palm of your hand
and eternity in an hour.

-William Blake

also, anything from ambrose bierce and dorothy parker

Politics, n. Strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles
Politeness, n. The most acceptable hypocrisy.
Admiration, n.: Our polite recognition of another's resemblance to ourselves.
--ambrose bierce, devil's dictionary

Take care of the luxuries and the necessities will take care of themselves.
Dear Mary: We all knew you had it in you.
Dorothy Parker (1893 - 1967), telegram to friend who had given birth
--dorothy parker

and of course, my tag line cracks me up for some reason.
