Default When do you feel the most creative?

I always get motivated to stamp after 10pm. Some nights I won't even sleep before my girls wake up at 7am.

I used to only have time in the middle of the night because of the kids (they'd get into everything). At that time my DH was overseas and I didn't have my own stamping room. Did I train myself to only be able to stamp at night? How do I change it back?

I want to sleep, but my need to stamp is so much stronger.

I think I'm going to make myself a caramel macchiatto right now...

My family and I have always been night owls, even overseas we are still night owls. I guess it doesn't help that my hubby works the midnight shift and I feel more motivated to clean and get more things done at night when it is quiet and you have some peace. So I know where you are coming from. Plus I usually have to wait up to call family in the states anyway. Even growing-up though we always went to bed late and got up early I don't know how I did so good going to school, working, and doing other activities on 4-5 hours of sleep. I am better now since my son goes to preschool, but it is so much easier getting more done and staying up doing what you want to do.

LOL! Me too!!! Guess that's why we're up at midnight (Eastern Standard time) surfing SCS! I've been know to still be up stamping when DH gets up at 5am to go to work. Gotta love it!

I have my best ideas when I'm in the shower. If I'm stuck on an idea, I'll always get an idea to make the project work while I'm washing my hair. Herbal Essences? No, Dove shampoo & conditioner.

As for stamping time, I like to stamp at night when my kids are in bed. I get so much more done when the house is quiet and kids aren't nagging me to get them a drink or put a movie on or mediate a toy dispute. I'm definitely a night owl and always have been. I love the song from "Guys & Dolls" where Sky Masterson is singing, "my time of day is the dark time."

I think it would be a lot easier without the responsibility of children. They take so much time and I never get to sleep in - but it's worth it And I never would have started stamping if it weren't for them.

I "accidentally" signed up for about 11 swaps so I need to get creative soon...

I think I'm addicted to this site. But I can quit at any time...

I am a demo, and I always feel most motivated and creative after teaching a class. The attendees are always so excited and it rubs off on me. I need to get my photos organized so the next time this happens I can scrapbook instead of making cards.

Maybe that's what's going on. I had someone take a recruit packet today and she seemed like she really wanted to sign up. That and the excitement of scrapbooking all day...

I typically get my best ideas when I have the most non-stamping stuff to get done! Like during exams, or when I have a paper due!

Generally, though, I'd have to say I feel the most creative late at night, too. I wonder why that is? I'm the same way with schoolwork, mt best papers are always the ones written after 10:00. Hmmm...

At night. I work 2nd shift at the hospital so as soon as I get home I am up all hours of the night making lots of cards and watching all the shows that my hubby records for me. Oh yeah sometimes I don't even work on cards b/c I am too busy surfing this site!

By the time I get my 2 to sleep, straighten up and get to stamping it is usually after 9...130 now, I am just uploading a few, will have some leftover chinese rice from dinner and put everything back into the closet....ahhhh THIS is why I only get to do this once or twice a week......

After 10 p.m. But since my scraproom is not in my house ( I have a back house) I hate going out there so late. It's very dark up here. I live in a town that doesn't believe in street lights and don't want people to have alot of lights around their house. There are often coyote around our area. I'm a big scaredy cat! LOL

I actually have to force myself to be creative during the day when I can enjoy being out in my room. It's been a challenge but once I get going I have no problem.

Default Creativity

I'm so glad to see that others have the same creative time as me!! I usually start getting my most creative ideas once my DD gets off to bed, somewhere around 8-8:30 PM and will stay up until 1AM stamping. I think if I could I would stay up later to stamp except she gets up between 6-6:30 AM lately and that doesn't allow me too much sleep. Too many nights of 4 or 5 hours of sleep and I burn out though....I need to pace myself more.

I have always been a night owl.... sense I was a kid. I have always been into some kind of art or craft growing up and have always felt more creative and energized when the sun goes down. Over the years I've tried to become a morning person... but I've now accepted that my internal clocks... will never be a morning person.

Yeah, right.

My most creative is when I have some problems to work out. I can sit down, focus on my scrapbooking and solve problems. I am actually looking forward to being my own best customer in the next few months. All the "problem solving" I will get done-now that's a good thing.

My husband usually goes to bed around 10-11pm. I prefer to stay up until 2 or 3 on the weekends. But it's not fair for me to sleep in every morning so I have to get up at 7 with the kids. For him 7am is 8-9 hours of sleep. For me it's 4-5 hours. So I really should go to bed earlier, but I can't. I keep coming up with stuff. And my head is full and bursting right now, but I can only make 1 card at a time. The last one I posted took me about 2 minutes to make. It's so easy without all of the cutting and embellishments!! I wonder how long it will take to upload onto the site...

Any ideas on how to get the hubby to let me sleep in on the weekends?

When my children are asleep. It really doesn't matter otherwise cause I don't have a chance to experience what it would feel like to try to be creative at say 11:30, just after breakfast...
