For quality I will only use SU. I have tried a lot from specialty shops to paper suppliers. Now that is my box for my 3 yo to stamp with
*I had heard Wal-mart was compaprable to US White, but i didn;t find that to be so. :( *

I dont know about wholesale, but I have tried just about everything out there, and SU cs is by far the best!! I am not a demo for SU, just a good customer that tried the cheaper way for awhile, then tried to get MORE cs (bulk) by buying printer cs...and many other ways to see what i liked...well, SU is, in my opinion, the best overall for quality, price, and quantity.
I would recommend only SU cardstock if you want your projects to look professional and well put together. I learned from experience when I tried to do birth announcements. I bought the stamps, the ink and the ribbon from SU and though "I'll just get cardstock from Office Depot". My announcements looked horrible because nothing matched. I was so disappointed but learned a lesson. SU cardstock is very reasonable and great quality.
I do buy Office Depot c/s for my practice paper so I don't waste any of my beautiful SU cardstock!
SU is by far the best. We have an AC Moore here and you can get a whole lot of card stock for a cheap price----but it's almost like construction paper. Someone brought some to a workshop I had and she was embarassed at how poor the quality was compared to SU!! (Yeah for me!) Plus I think the colors are so rich and beautiful.
I usually buy the SU paper because everything matches. I buy my white cardstock at Wal-Mart. It's $4.95 for 150 sheets, it's a bit more firm than SU paper but it's a nice way to save a few cents. But there is a wholesale company out there that has papers. Darice! They have a lot of colors, though the colors do not match the other SU supplies. You can go to www.darice.com, you'll be able to look around there but you won't be able to see any prices until you give them your business info and registered state & federal ID numbers.
I do love SU paper, but I have to say that for a nice quality basic white at a much lower price, I bought a ream of paper from Paper Zone that I love too! It was about $13 for 500 sheets. If you don't have a Paper Zone in your town, they are on line but the shipping would probably be alot for a ream of paper.
I've been buying from SU for about 1 1/2 years now and tried paper from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Archivers and small local scrapbooking stores.
By far, the SU paper is superior in quality and now it's the only paper I use. I've also found that it is better priced then some others. And the coordinating colors with SU inks is perfect!
Look though your telephone book, the yellow pages, for paper products.
If you have a wholesaler in the area, you will find them there. I love SU products but sometimes I want to experiment with colors and other types of paper weights. I want to try 2 or 3 sheets, not 20. Since I am making cards, and not scrapping, I don't necessarily want to pay extra for acid/lignin free (from a scrapbook store). Paper is so heavy, I never know if I will "save" money if I buy it online. The wholesaler in our area is a HUGE warehouse, the size of a Sam's club, and is called Expedx. They have 1000's of types of paper, envelopes, boxes, everything paper! You can buy any cs there by the sheet 10 or 15 cents each. They have all styles of envelopes in all colors (some you can buy individually, some by the box). You can see and touch the paper and know if it is a quality paper. All paper takes ink differently, so sometimes even if I like the paper, I may not like the way it takes the ink. But that is okay if I only bought a few sheets. The ones I like I can go back and buy more of.
I know we may sound biased with most of us SU demos or ex-demos or SU customers, but SU really DOES have the best c/s -- I was even testing out Bazill and very disappointed with that as well -- I like the c/s to have some weight to it.
The only c/s I have found that I will buy from another is the specialty, i.e. the shimmery white I found Leader paper has some that is similar and I can get a box of 50 sheets for a lot less than it would cost from SU and they also have shimmery pearl which is also as beautiful if not more so.
I learned the hard way as well trying to find something else that was as nice, the only one I have come back to is SU.
I'm not a demo but I prefer SU paper. I've done a LOT of research into different brands, prices, grades & styles of neutral CS and I think SU has a great selection of neutrals and their prices aren't bad. You can beat the prices if you want to buy at least 250 sheets, but shipping CS adds up pretty quickly. I gave away my craft-store cardstock when I started using SU's.
I stick with SU for colors because I like the ease of matching.
SU has the best quality cardstock I have found anywhere, you can try the imitations but you will find that the quality of the paper makes a big difference on your projects
I love SU colored paper and how easy it is to match things. But I do buy my white and off-white cardstock in bulk from www.marcospaper.com. They have lots of different weights of paper and you can find just about anything you want, lots of colors and weights(paper thickness). I get the 80lb cardstock for my cards. You can order off their website or they are at a lot of the rubber stamping conventions. I think the paper is great.
Thank You so much for all of your replys!!! I was trying to find card stock in different colors that I could save a little money on...especially since I will be selling my product. I am trying to be so careful with my costs. I am just starting to learn stamping. I won't neccessarily be making cards, And the creations I make will be protected in plastic.
It is so hard to find things wholesale. I want to mass produce a lot of what I am making BUT, I DO want the quality to be there.
Am I correct, that you cannot sell anything in a store with the Stampit up stamps on them? Wow, This surely messed me up. I will need to find some really nice stamps somewhere.
Getting SU cardstock if you're using SU inks means that everything matches. I tell my newbie stampers that you can get a really awesome look and polished result if you use the matching papers and inks (and stamp sets too, of course!). Before I knew about SU, I bought Bazzill cardstock (I love the texture fo scrapbooking) and they do have lots of cool colors, but it would be a huge pain to try to match them to SU colors. And it wouldn't be the same stamping on textured cardstock. We have the Canvas BG stamp to make it look like Bazzill! <G>
SU has SO many cool cardstocks - I love the cardstock-weight vellum. And the Naturals, and Confettis... And the Ultrasmooth White and Vanilla are just the best!! If you take regular white cardstock, stamp on that, and then stamp on US White or Vanilla, you'll be amazed at the difference.
At first I bought the combination packs (3 sheets each of 12 colors in a color family) for $6.95 (I think that's how much they are). Then when I saw which colors I used the most, I started ordering the packs of a single color.
I have found paper that , to me, is of better quality than stampin-up. Try foxriverpaper.com.
They are paper manufacturer and you can purchase great basic colors ( they dont have the same color selection as su) from them at reasonable per sheet prices . The good thing is that you can get cardstock in different weight- from regular to 170 lb which is really thick.
I LOVE their textured whites and creams.
I dont know about wholesale- I've only ordered from them retail but I like that I can purchase exactly how many sheet s i need
As far as plain white or cream goes I haven't found anything I like better than SU!'s Ultrasmooth papers. The texture is sooooooo smooth and the ink sits so beautifully on the paper without even the slightest bit of bleeding or feathering. I always get the crispest, sharpest images with the Ultrasmooth White and Vanilla. And I always use the Ultrasmooth envelopes for the perfect finishing touch.
No, I'm not biased because I'm a demo. I became a demo because I LOVE SU! paper and products.
