Default paypal

I have a question about PP that maybe one of you knows the answer to. A few of my favorite companies (and you know who you are!) take PP, but when I would go to check out, it would only seem to take PP if it were associated with a credit card. My PP account is ties to a small savings acct. that I keep for this purpose. Has anyone else run into this? Or maybe things have changed and it's all the same now.

Hi Jutta,

My PP account is linked to my checking account and I've never had a problem ordering from any vendor with it.

HOWEVER, A WORD OF WARNING - I just this past week had the experience of someone getting getting a hold of my PP password and going into my account and stealing $1,000!! PP has been very good at following up on this and is restoring all the lost money but it has caused a major inconvenience for me.

Bottom line, it is, I think, better to have your PP account hooked up to a credit card with a limit or a savings/checking account with a very small balance in it.

I just wanted to pass on some advice to others to be careful.

I actually just talked my demo into signing up for Paypal - that way DH doesn't have to know what I spend on stamps, etc., if it's not coming from our account, lol. (Scrounging around the house - what can I sell now

Wow Lisa! That just stinks about you account being hacked into! But it sounds like PayPal took care of you!
I would agree, having PayPal linked to a credit card with a limited credit line and with a bank that offers fraudulent protection sounds like double the protection. Another PayPal security info tip I recently discovered... PayPal also offers a Security Key that acts as an additional layer of protection. I believe it is only $5.00 for the key. The info can be found in the security center, under security tools.

Being carful is always good thing!

My son about died when he looked over my shoulder at my paypal account in my accounting program and saw that I have over $23,000 in my paypal account....I really dont anymore. But when I do my invoicing and it shows the payment went to paypal it just keeps adding up. The issue is that I do not record my expense to offset the income...I really should but that means even more time at the puter when I could be making cards....I wish I still had that much in there...lol
Blessings.

I too can tell you my paypal account has been stolen at least 3 times so far. They always refund the money pretty quickly when they see obvious fraud. Someone in Louisianna bought a Gateway computer with my Paypal. Someone in California bought a Dell computer. And yet another person sent expensive flowers somewhere in Louisianna with my account. Easy fixes. I am still unafraid to uses Paypal. Also...my paypal account is at a seperate bank from all the family finances just to be sure none of that money is ever stolen. Blessings.

Paypal will let you have a debit card (for free) that is tied to your Paypal balance. Then you can use your paypal money *anywhere*. :-)

Just enabling a little.

Yes, it is up the the individual demo at this point (I do for the convenience of my customers).

However, Stampin' Up! recently started accepting customer credit cards, for anyone who doesn't know that. In the past, demos had to have a separate processing company to accept cards, and many demonstrators didn't want to go that route.
