Yes, they are a little expensive but I figure I'll buy three. K,W and "&"
and try and buy them one or two at a time. I think that they would be neat to have.
I'm getting a few letters, but I would really love it if SU would say they're putting them in the 06-07 IB&C. I can't afford all the letters I want, even spread out over 3 months!

I know what you mean. I would love to buy a few at a time. Maybe they will. I wish they werent so much though.
They are a bit pricey. But, don't forget that the rubber that comes "around" the die cut letter is also a stamp. You can't mount it on the other side of the wood and stamp the rubber surrounding the letter. Does this make any sense!!???
I think it is worth buying your monogram letter or maybe the "M" for Merry Christmas, KWIM?

Oh, I'm definatly getting one for each of the first letters in the family. I have like 5 to get so I know what you mean but I figure if you were to buy one to put in a die cut machine that size it would probably be $40. Ahh, it's just $$ LOL
Well, I love them and I have to have them all. I'm hoping they will be in the new catty. I will start with the letters that I will use/need. If they make it into the new catty then I will buy the rest. I need 13 to begin with.
I just checked these out with my demo yesterday afternoon. But before she came by, I typed a couple of really big letters on the computer, chose 'outline style', then chose 'flip horizontal' to make them print backward. When I cut them out I had faux monogram alphas. I think that I did a fairly good job with the cut-outs so decided to buy "Looks Like Spring" and "Graceful Words" instead.
There were just way too many ideas I had for the really big letters and I can't possibly buy the entire alphabet!
Hi, Like everyone, I can't get all the letters either...I have 1 girl and 3 boys, so I thought maybe a letter for each child's name, then M for Mom and will already have "D" for Dad becuz one of the kids' names starts with a "D"...and the & letter. Maybe a "B" for Boy and "G" for girl, I don't know. How does one decide which letters to get that they will use the most? I do a lot of scrapbooking, so that's why I thought I should just get my children's first initals...hmmmm

I'm a little confused, how can it be like getting two for the price of one? I guess this is something I'll have to "see" to understand.
I'll try and explain. There is the wood block. The monogram stamp is a piece of rubber the same size of the block -- just like a background stamp. The letter is precut, but kind of perforated, so that you push out the letter. What remains behind is the rubber with a space in the middle where the rubber stamp letter was. So if you mounted that piece of rubber on the other side of the block you would have a rubber stencil of the same letter. So you could stamp that say in blue onto white paper and have a white letter surrounded by the blue.

I had to think about this a long time and I decided to buy them all.
I just sealed the deal with my demo and they will be ordered in March.
I wasn't going to post about this but then I thought if there is anyone out there that wants to buy all of them, but is on the fence because it is kinda crazy .... Do it ! ..... you know you want too.
We can all be crazy together.
I have always been the "buy the dress the party will come" kind of gal anyway.
I am like MnM- I have to have all or nothing.. I am way too obsessive.. But the possibilities are endless.. and just think you will be to the $400 mark - meaing great FREE items! (such sick logic I know)
Miss 'Cheap' here and I went faux. It worked fine for me and money can be spent on other items or PUT IN THE BANK! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Now, am I correct in saying if you buy the alphabet i'ts like $450 at 16.95 each with shipping, taxes added. Not to mention the space it'll take to store all those. Sorry but all that money and space is just worth to much to me and that darn computer is already here and working fine!
I like the faux idea for cards or scrapbooking but was thinking more of going beyond the paper.. Walls, wood, fabric..etc.. I think you can make some CUTE things from the unfinished wood section from Michaels.. ABC toy box etc.. I am taking a monogram class at Archivers in a few weeks and I wonder how their monogram stamps are.. I will have to look into it.. I agree that the storage is a concern because I cant imagine storing 27 MORE plastic cases.. Will acrylic mounts work - I have never used them.. and stencils dont do it for me.. I like the look of rubber.. Will have to see how it all works out.. I cant imaging ONLY offering the stamps for a few months.. But I do like the size of them. and they seem sooo much better than the foam ones I have seen.. I wonder how the SU ones will work with the new scrapbook paint.. Anyone try this?
I only bought the letter "H" for our last name. I'm a demo and I can't bring myself to buy them all. Kudos to those who have and I wish you were my customer.........(he,he,he)
I might get a couple more before the mini ends. I wish my last name began with "S", that letter seems to be alot more versatile.
Just my input.
Kelley
Just wanted to know how many of you are going to buy the monogram alpha's? I just thought that they were so cool.....
Kristie
They may be on the expensive side but how can you pass up your own initial not to mention your grandbabies :0
So, hence I now have in my possesion the letters..."D" for my grandson, Daniel..."N" for my granddaughter, Noel..."G" for my granddaughter, Gina..."&" for when I'm joining some words...and lastly "J" for Jo Ann (that's me!).
My only complaint as discussed earlier in another thread was...the "J" was somewhat altered and was missing all of it's curve...but I'll live with it anyway

Shame on you...buying stamps in large quantities is never "sick"...I hope Ms. Shelli didn't hear you...heheh!!!
No for me - I've been making the faux letters and they look great.
I'm also spending my $$ on the Leave Memories monograms. They are smaller but I get 4 unmounted styles of the same letter for $8.00.

Could someone tell me what the "faux" alphabets are? I think it might have something to do with printing them backwards on the computer, but then what?

I'm not sure about printing them backwards, but yes I did mine on the computer in my card program. Most computer packages have a card program with it.
my cousin is buing the letters CREATE and she is having her hubby make a small shelf on her wall for her to mount them. i on the other hand will probably get them all. im with the ones that say all or nothing!!

Not sick logic at all.
The possibilities ARE endless. I use my stamps for more than papercrafts so I NEED rubber stamps. If I were just making cards and doing scrapbooks, perhaps computer generated letters would do.

Now for me that is too much money to be on a shelf.. I saw the same size wooden letters at Michaels that were like $2.. Very cool looking.. I would spell the phrase "CREATE" in those and still buy all the stamps to Create with..
I don't plan on buying any. I've seen a couple that have been awesome, but most of what I've seen hasn't swayed me into wanting to buy even one. Now DH is a little concerned because for several days last week he kept hearing me bring up these Monogram stamps due to ideas people have e-mailed or posted. I don't think he has anything to fear though. This is one of those things that time will tell.

my husband doesn't know where my money goes. He has his $$$ and I have my $$$ and fortunately all the bills are paid with his money....lol
If he really knew how much money I spent he would probably have a heart attack.
I hear ya...
I am on Maternity leave and I'm going back to work this weekend... and my Hubby is talking about "joint" accounts just for simplicity sake. HA! We've had seperate accounts while we cleared up student loans etc.. but I guess we're about to merge. he may be shocked... he could not BELIEVE that the "E" cost almost $25! (CDN)
He's in for a whole new experience
