signed up just recently and just received my pass word and ID. I probably won't do anything until January. I was also told I have 45 day to take advantage of free shipping, Etc.
You have 45 days to place your first hostess order and receive 30% off (instead of the normal 20%). You will not receive free shipping after Dec. 31. So you will get 30% off but pay shipping after Jan 1. If you place your first hostess order in December you will get 30% off and free shipping (basically a 40% savings).
I have a few recruits that signed up in December to get that additional savings, while others want to wait until after the new year. If your personal wish list is long, the free shipping in December might be appealing.
There advantages to signing up in either month -- it's basically a great time of year to join.

I signed up in January of 2004, during the last Sellabration. I now have one hostess who is planning on signing up to be a demo and I've counseled her to wait until January and she agreed.

Just an FYI for you potential recruits:
I just read on the official SU Demo web site that ALL demonstrators will be getting a set for free and that this set is going to be incuded in the demonstrator STARTER KITS through March!! Sign up to be a demo now (thru March) and get SAB sets as well as this new 2005 word set.
This along with the free set for signing during Sellabration should make January/February PRIME times to sign up!

Add me to the growing list! I got with my demo yesterday and we started filling out the paper work. Now, to just wait until Jan 1st. Excited and scared all at the same time!

I am signing up in January also - Have my paperwork and stuff all filled out and my stamp set already picked out that you get for free. hehe
I said I would never sell anything that I didn't believe in but I love everything about SU products so thought I would be a natural at it. Not to mention where I work has like 1500 people so was hoping some of them are stampers :-)
I also work in a large building. I have discussed with some demos the idea of putting up greeting cards on the employee use bulletin boards. People have all sorts of business cards and for sale signs. I am sure people would look a the cards. I figured I would fill the inside with an ad like "If you would like to learn how to make papercrafts like this..."
