Most of the time the reason is that the name of the file of the photo on your computer is the same as another one you have uploaded. Check out this thread it will answer your questions---I have had it happen to me a few times so i know how frustrating it can be, but just make each photo have a unique name and it will take care of it---not the name you give it when you upload it but what it is listed as on your computer, does that make sense?
But I have never made a mailbox before so I really don't think this is the reason this time. Thanks though.
What is the name of the file on your computer at home---i noticed that most of your photos are the letters aa, followed by a number, could the mailbox have been named the same thing as one of your other uploads, click on the properties when you have the photo up on your desktop and see.
But I have never made a mailbox before so I really don't think this is the reason this time. Thanks though.
The word 'mailbox' is what you may have put in the title or description but that isn't the file name. As the poster above noted, the actual file names are all a?_by_cheer_mom_?, with the question marks representing the variable characters that change from file to file.
When I file my photo on my home PC I use my initials as part of the name of the photo and I use the name of the set and number it. Example: KC Lovely as a Tree 11. By giving the file a unique name other than just Lovely as a Tree it guarantees that my image name is not duplicating someone elses. If two people load a picture with the exact file name then one of them can cause the other to be removed. I hope this makes sense as it is sort of hard to write out.
I had a name from "Luke" that I posted in my gallery 4 or 5 times.. after the first time it disappeared I changed the name on my computer.. but it kept disappearing.. Kurtis didn't understand why either.. I finally gave up and didn't post it anymore.. I had wanted to show how I had used the Cricut and Stamping together to make the thing.. it was my favorite of all I had ever made.. Pam

Oh this mailbox photo could be listed as aa on my computer and i may have another aa on my computer. Is this what you mean?
Yes that is what i mean---it is so hard to explain, but it needs to be unique each and every time, so that when the server does a sweep it will kick out the repeats. Hope you figured it out, cuz i know how disappointing it can be when they disappear.
I always add the date (including the year) to my file names before uploading. That way I only have to make sure that the files I upload on that day have unique file names. All my older files will be fine because they have older dates in the file name.
Another member may use the same initials or dates as you but no one has the same SCS username, so that's what I use in every file title when I save it from my photo program.
So it may read Calm Night Rox71 and if I think I could have used the name before I add a period or number to the title. I've never lost a card in the gallery.
So what I'm saying is your username is as unique as you can get.
Another member uses her user name and numbers each card from 1 on up so she will never ever use the same title twice.
The gallery isn't looking for doubles in just your gallery, it's the entire SCS gallery.
