I lurk far more than I contribute!!
a) My scanner isn't a flat bed and I don't have a digital camera (sigh!)
b) I CASE a LOT!!!! It took me forever to figure out what CASE stood for (Copy and Share w/ everyone) bytheway!!
c) I have some psychological theories why I'm intimidated!! :?
d) I feel like others express my religious and political views more articulately than I can! (I'm pretty emotional!)
e) so far, when I've made comments, I don't see many responses back... sounds whiny!!, sorry!!
I'm here and I want to be here with all of ya! Thanks for all the entertainment and GORGEOUS cards!

Hi everyone, I have been lurking here for a couple of months. I love looking at all of the beautiful cards and learning about new techniques. Haven't got the nerve to upload anything yet! Maybe I will soon.
i can't believe it, but i almost lurked on the 'why do you lurk?' page. that makes me a total.... lurker? :o)
all the reasons why i don't reply much are already here multiple times. i'm that friend of yours who always sits quietly in a large heated discussion, and as soon as the group breaks up passionately relates her opinion on the matter. and you sit there and wonder why she didn't speak up sooner.
no one here can think badly of me if i just lurk, easier than to fear foot-in-mouth disease, which i suffer from on a daily basis...
I'm pretty much just lurking until I can make an intelligent contribution, and get some photos of my incredible, artisitic, creative, fabulous cards in digital form. hehehe Until then I'll live with my delusions of grandeur

I won't hold that against you
I'm in the Grand Rapids area, Kentwood specifically.
Welcome out of lurkdom!!

I'm responding to your response about lack of responses!!
Lots of times I get no response, perhaps it should make me shut up.... Nooo, maybe I just like to hear myself type!?
Anyway, no more lurking!!

Hmmm....at first I thought that lurking meant reading the forums as a guest, which I did for several weeks, mostly gallery gazing (sponges love to absorb, see below for explanation). Now after reading the comments here, I see that registered members are lurkers, too! See, this site is educational.
Finally registered a few days ago, and added my avatar today. There was a discussion I lurked on last week about user names, very amusing, and so I should explain mine.
Was thinking of using "inky"-something, but then saw there are already various combos of that, so the mind wandered and thought of the nickname my sister gave my son - "ikibob" (his first name Ian and middle initial K - IK, and we are huge Spongebob fans, which explains the avatar, too). So, I'm ikimom (no, not icky). Almost thought to use "Mrs. Puff" (oooohhhh Spongeboooobbbbbb).

p.s. aaarrrgghh - maybe people don't post, because I just tried this 3 times and kept getting asked to login after which my message was blank. But, I will persevere, as I'm looking to graduating to "Glitter Queen".
first of all - dawnp, you need to post more if for no other reason than to let us see that cutie pie in your avatar.
next, those of you intimidated to upload pictures because you think your projects are not good enough - horse feathers!! Just take a look in my gallery - there's nothing fancy in it but people still say they like some of my projects.
finally, this site is a great place to work on breaking free from lurkerdom! We can't see you so if you feel embarrassed or silly - nobody knows but you. So, ask your questions and post your comments especially since there might just be someone on here that even newer to stamping or SCS than you and would learn something from you!
mrsriver - if nobody responds to your post, you can move it back up to the top by replying yourself and just typing in bump. Or, you can just talk to yourself - I do it so I think everyone's pretty much used to it by now. For example, if you ask a question and no one responds, you can then just post a reply saying "I wonder why no one has answered my question." at which point someone might answer but if not, for the next reply you can put "Maybe no one here knows the answer." which is pretty much an irresistible challenge to a smart aleck like me. Or after the topic has gone back up to the top that many times, someone's bound to get tired of seeing it and will answer just to be done with it!!
Michele,
LOL !! I can't believe that not only is time getting away from me but now I'm a day behind !!
Thanks for setting me straight and yes I know that today is the 14th !!
Have a good day all of you lurkers and non-lurkers !
Stefanie -

Heidi: See that Pam talks to herself, I always knew she was a little wacko!
Heidi: Now, don't say that, Pam's OK.
Heidi: Well, maybe, but come on, who talks to THEMSELVES
Heidi: Just cause you're perfectly sane doesn't give you the right to demean others!
Heidi: I suppose that's true, poor Pam, do you suppose she knows that she's wacko??

I lurk all the time. Daily, as a matter of fact. I always feel like you ladies know each other so well and I would be intruding on your conversations. You are all really so nice, and I know that this isn't the case at all. I've posted my artwork in the gallery and even joined the RAK group, but still too shy to contribute to the daily chit chat. I will try harder to post something at least once a day from now on! So that's it for today, talk to you tomorrow
