Please don't jump on me for asking this as I truly want to know. If the minimums are so low how come everyone isn't a demo? If I understand the math you would only have to spend $70 every 3 months to stay active? Plus S&H and tax of course.

Good question, I think it's because we are a newer company. and we sell only Unmounted Blue Rubber stamps. (ours uses the Creative Cling foam..much like Ez-mount)
We do sell other supplies as well as stamps.
And we send in our full payment for the sale. So it would be $100.00 every 3 months.
We get a Commission checks twice a month. It's not instant income.

A long time ago I did consider joining, but backed out 'cause of the start-up cost. Also, I thought about it a LOT but just couldn't deal with being referred to as an angel (yes I have issues). But I do like TAC.
ETA: my plan was to just join for a quarter or two, buy everything TAC that I wanted and then drop again... I was just going to do it for the discount.

A lot of people join for the discount.
Re: start-up fee, TAC was offering a $50 starter kit

There is more to the new plan, such as needing $100 in sales per month in order to receive any kind of commission. And a 15% shipping charge, with 5% coming out of our commission checks - if we get one, that is. :( Guess I'll be leaving.

That is a good deal! I don't remember what the start-up cost was back then...maybe $100?? I guess maybe if they offer the $50 starter kit again I could always join in secret...then no one would know that I was ever an "angel" :-D

Sorry, I was mistaken about the shipping. That's only for orders outside the continental U.S. I'll still be leaving, though, because of the minimums. Anyway, good luck to all of you who stay - or become - Angels. I wish you the best.

That new plan is only for those that live on Military bases and Alaska and Hawaii
If you read the message in the Angels only section. You should read that this only applies to those that live the 15% shipping area.
This is not for the rest of us Angels! So your Commission would still be the same
Also Our Sale requirement is $100.00 every quarter (which is 3 months. So you would only need to sell $33.33 a month or do one big party to meet your Sales Requirement.
Is shipping going up to 15% for all orders? Ok...so I should ask what it is now...That might not be a new number now that I think about it.
No the Shipping will be 10% or $6.95 up to $69.95 For those of us that live in the 10% shipping area.
Those that live on Military Bases, Hawaii, And Alaska will be paying 15%
Something in the Angel net system was not catching the 15% of those that live in those areas. And now TAC is asking for those that have been using the Angel net for back payment.

Yes, I did correct the shipping post. While the sales requirement is $100 every quarter, you would still need to sell $100 in one month in order to receive a commission. That is the part that doesn't work for me.

Sophie you're a Angel Already...
I do want clear things up a bit. The Get your Wings Kits, We have two kit's.
One is the full kit which would cost is $150.00 plus shipping and tax.
(you would get stamps, ink, and business supplies)
And the other one is Paper work only for $50.00 plus shipping and tax.

According to the new stamp spree promotion, reactivation is good through March.. it says on the new flyer to still call home office to reactivate and that promotion is from Jan-March 2010.

Yes you are correct! I was looking in the wrong place. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm sorry it's not working for you Jeanette ... I know you were quite happy with them.
I'm in an APO location, and when I was an angel, angelnet never charged the 15% shipping, just the 10%. Instead of making a huge overhaul on their software system to make it do it, it was probably easier to take that extra 5% out of the commission. (Which, I don't understand why companies think they need to charge MORE to ship to APO locations because they only have to pay to get it to NY/NJ because the military forks the bill the rest of the way....)

That's true but I was wondering if UPS ships to APO? KWIM? So if you have a small order it shouldn't matter weight wise but let's say you order the scor pal and bind it all (which would be a super order, eh?!) and that goes via the postman, it probably costs them a lot more. I know even the $6.95 min. postage charge frosts a lot of my customers... I think figuring a fair shipping cost is a tricky business, especially when you have to charge shipping upfront. :(
That all being said, I really believe that this compensation plan can be good for those that want to run it as a business and those that just want to be a hobbyist and save money. And through it all, I hope that TAC continues to grow and prosper because they really do listen to us demos and I like what I am seeing (again after just seeing a great fall supplement) for the Spring.

And as an afterthought, I didn't remember how they shipped stateside, so by shipping via USPS it may cost them more compared to what they may have negotiated with UPS kwim? So then, it would make sense.... I do know that with both SU and TAC sometimes the cost to ship it was more than I paid...
When I said what I did about companies charging more, I didn't specifically mean TAC with that change....it was a general thing like with Walmart etc who often charged outrageous amounts to ship to us....I kind of went off on a little tangent of my own there LOL I think the shipping costs with TAC was fair actually.....
Anyway, I'm glad to see those changes for you all, I know it makes a lot of the Angels pretty happy.

Oh, and I meant to ask, when DOES their new catalog come out, and are they doing one or two a year now? I've not even seen one in some time, don't think I saw this last one they had LOL
Hey Susan, I hope I didn't come acrossing like I was wagging my finger!! I had always wonder too about the difference but then I just got to thinking a bit about it, since I usually have my stuff deliver by Mr Brown himself, I figured that may make the difference.
The next magalogue comes out 1 Feb...I bought the pre bundle package of stamps but now I've got to sit and cut them all out and get busy!! Some cute stuff...and again, a real variety for all the different tastes out there. But no retro elves...which by the way, I never got that Christmas card as you threatened!! tee hee...

Oh gosh, no you didn't come across like that at all, I just wanted to clarify where my comment came from LOL
