I am thinking of purchasing a Xyron machine and I was wondering for those of you that have one, do you use it often and what size is the most versatile?
I have 3 I use them all the time I use the little X one alot because I use it with the Sizzlets alphabets. I use the 250 for most of my stamping stuff. I use them at church and everyone loves them that has used them. I don't use the 500 unless I'm doing bigger stuff.

I have a 510 and the 150 and I love them both, it seems like I am always using them when i have adhesive..LOL. They are so fast to use and just put your items on your card or on a sb page quickly.

I have the 900 that I use for many of the kids projects for school. It has a laminating and magnet cartridge as well as adhesive.
I just got the 250 and have used it every time I scrap or stamp. It was a lifesaver for my daughter's neverending card valentines. All of those little pieces to glue on would have taken me forever without it.
I have the 500 and 150 (orange X - create a sticker). I use them both equally. I'm not a big fan of the repositionable adhesive though. I used it on heavier card stock and found that it didn't hold very well. But, love the permanent adhesive.
If you have a Big Lots near you, I just got mine a week ago ... they have the 500 in a bonus box with a mini cropper (not worth much) and two adhesives ... all for $19.99!
I've got the "X" and the 250...and as soon as I can work out both storage and $$$ issues, then I'm going to work towards the 500/550 (whichever is out right now) or the 900. *LOVE* this product! I agree about the repositionable adhesive that someone else mentioned above - it's not very reliable on the heavier c/s...best bet: go with the permanent.
And if you scrap with any die cut letters, particularly Sizzlits or Quickutz, then any size Xyron is a *MUST HAVE* or you're wasting time trying to put adhesive on each individual letter when you can literally drop & pull! ~ Kaylyn

Ya the repositional is not the best for lasting grip but it works great for making masks to hold in place when your stamping. I use it for this and then I keep the backing so I can save it in with the stamp set. I have it ready when ever I need it.

I have a 510 but have never used it, I bought it years ago and it has been in the box on a shelf all that time. My question is, do you use this in place of monoadhesive, epecially for those of you who use this machine all the time? Wouldn't this be more costly to use than monoadhesive?
I have the orange X one great for Sizzix,QK's fonts easy to tote along with you ..
I also have the 250 , 510 and 850 each is great ... if you are going to only get one I would go for the 510

Do you ever have a sticky residue after positioning you art work on the card front? I seem to have that issue wiith the xyron but really enjoy using it otherwise. I have rubbed the embossion buddy over the edges but that can leave traces on my cardfront if a dark color cs is used. Appreciate any help you can give me here.

If you are using a Xyron that has the clear top sheet on the item after you run it through, you just need to rub your item around the edges. The top sheet should pull that off.
i have the 900 and the 150. the size that is most versatile depends on your use.
if you want the option for laminating and making magnets, the 510 is the smallest you can get. if all you want is to apply adhesive, it depends on what types of things you want to apply it too.
i like to run a whole sheet of paper through the 900 and then use it as i need it. this is really nice for a lot of the smaller dies (like the alphabets). for small embellishments that i bought, using the 900 would be a waste (unless i have several that i can run through together) so i use the little 150.
i wouldn't mind having the 510 also, it would be nice for when i don't have enough to use the 900 and the item is too large for the 150. but there are too many other things i want to get first!
I got the 900 for Xmas and haven't used it yet. It would prob. be good for the OSW, right?
I thought of running a bunch of checked ribbon through it, too.
