I was thinking of putting one on my Christmas list but wasn't sure which one is the most versatile for the cost. Anybody's suggestions or comments would be appreciated!

If I can't be a good example -- then I'll just have to be a horrible warning!
Came to $89 with shipping - including the 3 cartridges (one perm adhesive, one repositionable adhesive, one laminating).
Think this is the best deal going!

Lori ~ they had the 900 on sale this weekend for $79 with no shipping. You should call and see if you can get the free shipping. I got mine two weeks ago from Shop at Home and it is great. I took the repositionable cartridge back to Mikes and got a permanent. I'm loving it!!
Kymbers - free shipping!?? I was watching on Sunday, and didn't see anything about the free shipping offer. I'll have to give them a call - thanks for the heads-up!
It might have actually been one cent. That's what mine was and they did it FedEx home so it was there less than a week after I ordered it. You watched this weekend? Isn't Juliana a hoot!!
Kymbers....Michaels had no problem taking the repositionable back when it didn't come from there? I wouldn't want that one. I think that site sounds like an awesome deal, do they have sales like that all the time or do I need to pounce on this one?
I bought the 510 for me and now the 250 for our son. I am using his for anything 2 inches wide or less and mine for larger stuff or when his is in use. He is 4 and can make stickers all by himself with the 250!
My advice would be to get the largest one that you can get a great deal on. The opening size is larger as the number gets higher. So~ for scrapbooking, the larger ones are more useful. For cardcrafting, you could be happy with a smaller unit for punches, embellishments, etc. Keep in mind that if you want to use it for larger layers, you need one that can accomodate a 4 or 5 inch piece of cardstock. Either Kymbers deal or a 40-50% off coupon at your local craft store is the way to go.
I walked in, told the manager I had sent my hubby to by permanent adhesive and when he returned he didn't have the receipt and had bought the wrong adhesive. Jokingly laughed I was lucky he got the right model #. I asked if I could exchange it and he was happy to allow me to do so. So it made the whole purchase worth while. The cartridges run $34 each, but are 40' or 50' in length. Getting three plus the machine was totally worth it in my opinion.
I looked and looked and couldn't find a place to get free shipping. I talked to my hubby on the phone and he said get it and it'll be part of my christmas present from him. So I am ordering! Yipee!
I am pretty sure the ones on Ebay give you cartridges too...and I think an idea book. Do any of you who have the Xyron have the idea book? I was just wondering if it was really anything great or not. = )

Mine came with an idea book. I used it to post 101 ways to use a Xyron about a week ago. Check how many cartridges and what kinds. I got a laminate, a perm and a repositionable. And like I said, Mike's let me exchange the repositionable.
