I am thinking about getting one of these and I know there are several models available. I would love to hear your opinions -good and bad- about these. Best model, how often you use it, best uses for it or anything else you can share. Please convince me that I need one (or don't).
Thank you all so much!

My mom bought me a little handheld unit for Christmas. I think it'll be the perfect size, and it'll work great with the tag punch sets. I guess you have to think of what you'll want stickered. For me, I think it'd be most convenient for little things. Haven't used it yet, though!
I picked up the small "X" shaped one (I think it's model 150) for making beaded pens and it works perfectly! I love it! Now I am considering a bigger one for many other projects. I'd recommend the Xyron just on my experience already
I've got both the little X (150) and the bigger 510. I use the small one all the time. Don't use the big one as much, but it sure does come in handy when doing some of the bigger projects.

I would go with the little X. I use it more than the 510, it's just too big. The X is a great size for tags and sizzlit alphabets and a lot of punches. And, it doesn't leave glue around the edges. HTH!
Dittos on the X (150). It's a must-have and you'll love it for small or narrow pieces and ribbon. Using it will give you a better idea of whether to get a larger one, too. You may find, as I did, that it's all you need.

I have the 150, 510, and 900. I use the 150 for lots...ribbon, small diecuts, stamped items, other small embellishments. The 510 is nice when you need some thing a bit larger than what the 150 can do. You can also get double-sided lamination and one-side lamination/one-side magnet for the 510-something I haven't seen for the 150. Unfortunately, I have never even gotten my 900 out of the box. The intention was to use it to laminate a family recipe scrapbook, which has not been constructed yet.
I love the little X one, too. I haven't tried putting ribbon through it, though (duh!). What a great idea!! I bought one for a Christmas present for a friend, too.

I do a lot of clipboards so I love my 900. I also like to laminate my patterns so the smaller models just wouldn't work for me. I love my 900.
Yea! - thanks for making me feel better about my 900 (I haven't used it yet, though!)
I did buy the 'X' one for my future DIL for Christmas, and I think I'm going back to get one for me (have a coupon, so it's only about $6). Think I'll get more use of that one, then use the 900 for big stuff.

I like being able to run big things through it without worry. I've had it a year and just finished my first permanent adhesive cartridge. I think it's totally worth the money and if you plan right you don't waste. I can run a layer of cs and a ribbon together and there's little to no waste. You can also make magnet business cards with it. Very cool stuff.
Thanks everyone for your comments. I think I will start with the X (150) and see how it goes from there. I love making the beaded pens and I just got a Sizzix for Christmas. I hate using monoadhesive all the time so this sounds like a really great option.
Take care and have a safe and happy New Year!!!!
