Default Yet Another Dollar Tree Find.....

Okay, I posted already about finding the MatBoard at the Dollar Tree, but forgot to mention another great find. I got a Photo Album that has 12 pockets to hold the 4x6 cards in it. Why is that great? Because it is actually 4 1/4 by 6 in each pocket, so I can easily slip card fronts into them, which means 24!! But the neatest think is that the cover and rear are assembled almost EXACTLY like the Journals. It's 5 3/4 x 6 1/2, has a separate cover and rear, and has holes through the covers and inserts that are attached by what looks like a fancy black shoelace. That means I can take it apart easily and make my own cover The only bad news was that there was only one left. Now I have to get to the other Dollar Tree before all of you out there go get some! They'll make wonderful Hostess Gifts, or maybe just a Spring Sampler to show off the mini catalog sets. Happy Hunting! Debbi

Pardon my french, but the only Dollar stores on this island "suck". They never have ANY of the cool stuff everybody else seems to find at THEIR Dollar Stores.

OK, now how 'bout some cheese with this whine?

When you finish your revamp of the album, photo and share, eh? I'd love to see it even if I can't find the stuff to do one, too!

Hi Guys,

Thanks Shannon

Shannon- that's okay... people at the stores I look for it usually don't know either. It's a tougher cardboard like what they use to mat picture frames. Hope this helps.

Default Mat board

May I make a suggestion if you are looking for inexpensive mat board? Go to your local framing shop. Ask them, "Do you have any matboard scraps you'd like to get rid of?" ANd see what they say. They literally have bunches of this stuff and some of them will give it to you absolutely for nothing.

That is how I found it. 8 "scrap" pieces all bigger than 8 1/2 x 11 for $3.00! (Alaska price, so you should find it cheaper in the lower 48 states) I was able to get two journals per scrap. The bigger "scraps" I made two 6x6 journals out of it.
