Yet another unmounted stamps question (re: Tack n Peel and storage)
I'm prepping for a move and looking forward to filling my 8x10' dedicated crafting room, but I don't want to fill it with plastic SU boxes of wood-mounted stamps. So I want to unmount my stamps and after reviewing all of my options I'm most excited about using Tack'n'Peel on acrylic blocks (I like the ones I got from Close to my Heart).
But if there's no adhesive or cling on the stamps (whether naked rubber or on SU foam), how can I store them? They wouldn't stick to a CD/DVD case and I worry about losing the little ones. I like the CTMH envelopes well enough for unmounted acrylics - I only have a couple envelopes worth - but what about my SU rubber, which I have a lot of?
Any suggestions? What do you do?

After I did this it also made it easier for me to find them by alphabitizing them. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but trust me after it's all done.. you'll thank yourself later when it's 1 a.m. and your creative mood strikes you for a certain stamp set ;)
Other than that, I'm still working on organizing my area.
What I do is use photo storage boxes. I cut out cs and stamp the front, laminate, then use double-stick tape to attach the stamps to the back. (That latter part is not my original idea; I got the notion here and really need to look up the lady's name so I can give her credit).
There are several different ways to store unmounteds, even at least one system you can buy. You may want to do a search in this forum on "unmounteds."
I keep my naked rubber in baseball card holder sheets that fit in 3 ring binders. I buy the sheets at the dollar store. I can store piles of stamp sets in one binder! I use one page per set and use my label maker to put the name at the top of the sheet. I organize the sheets by category (similar to the SU catty's categories). HTH!

Thanks for the ideas, everyone! I hadn't thought of double-stick tape to keep them from moving around in a box. Does it leave any residue?

I use Scotch Poster tape inside CD cases to keep the stamps in place. After awhile I found that worked just as well or better if I cut the tape lengthwise in 3 or 4 strips. In other words I cut a piece of poster tape about 5 inches long. Then I cut that piece in 3 or 4 strips. Next I stuck each of the narrow strips about an inch or two apart on each side of the CD case. Then I took the paper backing off the tape and stuck the naked rubber on BOTH sides of the CD case.
I found the Scotch Poster tape at Michaels and JoAnns and used those wonderful 40% off coupons.
Cheers!!!

Remember that with your TNP block you can't use anything with a foam backing on it or else it may tear. It works best with bare rubber. Same with your acrylic stamps and TNP- use the reverse/plain/non TNP block for that.
I use a cd cases for my UM and do not use anything sticky on the inside of the cases. If you are concerned about the opening, you can block that with some cardstock, or by inserting a strip of fun foam in the space.
Hi Alyson, if you're referring to my post, the answer is no. The double-stick tape leaves absolutely no residue - on rubber. foam or laminate.
I've tried several tapes, and would recommend keeping away from the cheapies. They don't leave residue, but they don't hold the stamps either, lot of good that does. LOL
I like Scotch double-stick tape. It does a super job at holding the stamps on the backs of my cards and you can get it just about anywhere. Duck brand also makes a good double-stick for this purpose, but I can't find it as easily.

If I can help any more, PM me.

Thanks - yes, that's what I was wondering, whether the double-sided tape left residue on the stamps. Thanks for answering!

It's CD cases and TIOO. It works well. Mine are on a shelf alphabetically. I have a notebook of the images and an inventory number for each set. I have a spread sheet in the computer saying what is on each CD and the company if I can remember.
