Many of us dabble in both card making and scrapbooking. This makes a lot of sense. After all, if you do one you pretty much have everything you need to do the other, yet people seem to identify most with one hobby or the other.
Do you think you are better at one than the other? Are you a better stamper than scrapper? Personally, I think I'm amuch better scrapper than stamper, but I'm hoping that in time my cardmaking abilities will catch up!
I think I'm about the same, but I relax more with the stamping. Scrapbooking kind of seems like a chore sometimes. Shhh, don't tell hubby, he may not understand.
I too started out scrapbooking, i have made maybe 6 or 7 albums, and i teach scrapbooking at my LSS, but i think my cards are WAY better than my layouts, for sure. It's my goal this year to get better at scrapbooking, or should i say, find my style.

I started making cards, but after visiting my college room mate who is now a big scrapbooker, I realized I could use all my same tools and just needed an album and some 12 x 12 cs. I have been very pleased with the albums I have done. Aren't scrapbook pages just really big cards with pictures?
I started out scrapping then moved onto stamping. I do find them both very different - I barely use stamping in scrapping and I seldom do a card without stamping on it. I really enjoy stamping but I think my scrapping is better than my cards.
I consider myself equally capable at both stamping and scrapping. Not sure that adds up to "awesome" but it is somewhat equivalent so I chose the "My awesomeness knows no bounds" option.

hmm.. not really.. if you look at the kind of layouts that are being pumped out by the 'biggies' in the industry, it's two very different styles. i would love to scrapbook like any of these ladies..
I agree, I think they are two totally different styles for me personally. Although I do see some people make cards and scrapbook pages that look the same! So I think it's a personal thing.
I originally started out scrapping in 2006. Then my aunt took me to an SU stamp camp and the obsession with that started also! These days, I make cards a lot more frequently than I scrap, which I think is a shame. I also view scrapping as a chore...but I need to get better about that. As for my ability when I sit down to create, though, I think it's about the same. So that's what I voted for.

for me... yes!
the scrapbooking that i have done look very much like my cards. clean & simple... that's just my style.
I started with scrapbooking.. quickly moved onto cards. I still scrap, and my pages are just as awesome as my cards(tee hee). But I do far more cards than scrap pages. I love how quick cards are in comparison. It can take me 5 hours on one scrapbook page layout!
I started out scrapbooking and started dabbling in stamping. Then I got hooked. I still love to scrapbook which I do with my friends. My stamping time is "me" time. But I feel my scrapbook pages are better than my cards.
I think I started with a scrapbook in 2002. I did it for my DS as a graduation gift. I did it in two weeks time. I scrapped from birth to graduation. I thought it turned out pretty good, and had some pretty good layouts. Then a friend asked me to attend a stamp camp with her, and that was it! For four years I didn't do much of anything. I bought Frosty set from the SU stamp camp and did my first set of Christmas cards, left the craft and the supplies I bought then in a sterilite box for three years. Then I attended another stamp camp, and was totally hooked. I had been so bad at sending cards to anyone for anything, but made a New Year's resolution to send all my family, nieces and nephews, and friends their birthday cards on time. Last year, 2008, I did it! I made and sent all my family members a birthday card! First time ever I was able to do that! I set up a craft area and just started! A few months ago, I had my sons exchange bedrooms, and left the smaller room for my son in college (with his permisssion) and now use that room as a craft room. I have two desks and now need to remodel it!
Once I got started, I made a recipe book I was rather proud of--in scrapbook style, and gave it to a friend who was diagnosed with cancer (and sadly passed away), but he treasured that book. I just recently made a scrap/calendar for my DH for a Christmas gift. I thought it turned out well (In my gallery).
But when it comes down to it, I think I scrap a little better than I stamp--but I love to stamp more than I scrap! I also love the craft of buying supplies to feed my addiction!
I voted *equally talented*...though there wasn't a choice without the awesomeness part which I don't think I am....though I scrap and make cards about equal in quality, I make way more cards in comparison to scrap pages...like 100-1. LOL
I have little patience. When I put my mind into it, I can scrap a great page, but I rarely have a day to devote to it, and I can't stand stopping mid-project!

I think I'm even in both but totally different style. I pile on a bunch more stuff (and time) on my scrapbook pages just because they're for me to keep where the card... unless I send them to fellow stampers whom I adore I never know where my cards will end up when I send them to friends/family. Close friends I pay special care... they know I spent a lot of time and they would keep it for a bit longer than usual. Ok ok... I'm selfish.
I'm a FAR better scrapper, I've only made about 10 cards. Over about the last 1 1/2 year I have been using a lot of stamping (swirls, flourishes, text) on my layouts (now it seems to be common). My cards, though I like them, I really want to learn how to make cards that look like what I call "stampers/cardmakers" cards that I see a lot of here. I recently got some nesties, prismas and some stamps I can color, so we will see...LOL!
LOVE the poll options...no room for false modesty! For those of you who feel you are not AWESOME, remember that anything you do with love and enthusiasm is truly awesome.
My scrapping is better than my stamping (card making) for a few reasons:
I enjoy it more
I spend much more time with a layout than I EVER would on a card
Bigger canvas + more products = better results, to me

Aren't scrapbook pages just really big cards with pictures?
Pamela
This is what my scrappin friends tell me, but I swear, all I can do is mat a picture and stick it on a page. I haven't ventured to the elegant pages, even though I can spend hours on a card, making it gorgeous (sometimes...)
My name is Jen, I am scrappily challenged. I need Scrapbooking for Dummies.
I started scrapping my wedding album shortly after we got married-i stopped about 4 pages in because I hated the look of the pages-have not picked it up in quite awhile-been married 5 years last Sept. Needless to say, I am a card maker. It is much more relaxing for me. Scrapping seems forced for me & I never like any of the pages.
I chose the awesome in both category. Though how I would put that is that I'm generally happy with everything I make. What anyone else thinks of my work doesn't matter to me:-D
