So tell me, are you neat and tidy or are you messy WHILE your stamping/scrapping?
When I am done making a layout or a card, my entire space, and even the floor around me (I stack things on the floor all around me, and I can't get out! lol) is a complete gosh dang MESS!! It takes me a good hour or so to clean it all up and I am really good about cleaning it each time/day, but gosh, I feel like a nutcase when I stop and look around at my space while Im working.
On a side note, I am the same way when I cook. LMAO! :-)
So.. are you neat/tidy stamper/scrapper or a messy one?
I'm one of those tidy stampers and I'm also that way when I cook, cleaning as I go so there's not mess when I'm done. I haven't always been that way - I completely give credit to (...or blame, depending on how you look at it) my DH for that!
I just think some people can be more creative when it's tidy, and others when it's not! It's kind of like my boys with their Legos - one likes things organized and neat, and the other looks like he's sitting in the middle of a Lego explosion.
I make a HORRIBLE mess when I stamp (and cook). There are little bits of paper and glitter and glue and you name it all over the place. Since right now my stamp table is kinda sharing space with the computer (thank you SCS) DH had to clean out the keyboard, because there was all kinds of little bits between the keys. hehehe I like everything I am going to use out on the table and in easy reach when I stamp. Sometimes, if I can't see it, I have forgotten that I have it. Like my crystal effects. If it's in a drawer, it never gets used, but if it's sitting out on my desk, I put it to good use as adhesive...
I can be a messy stamper, but I can be very tidy, too! I guess it depends on how organized I am w/the project I am working on! But if I am just sitting down to stamp w/no plan in mind ~ then watch out cause things could get pretty messy. I guess at least my mess is contained to my stampin' area! So, that's a good thing. I try to always start and end my stampin' w/ a clean space. ;)
I'm a neat and tidy and very anal about it! With cooking, stamping everything- but my car- my car looks like a hurricane hit it it is gross inside and out!
Hmmm kinda both LOL I have to start out with a clean space, but if the juices are really flowing it can get super messy really fast!
Thats exactly how I am! It must be clean and tidy when I sit down to play, but w/in a matter of 20 mins or so its a complete mess! My husband finds this hysterical (and frustrating at the same time.. lol) because I keep a very spotless home, and yet when it comes to my creations, Im a mess. But I try and tell him there is a difference of being messy ALL THE TIME and being messy only while Im stamping/cooking. He always walks in and says "oh my holysmokes, how can you even SEE what your doing in that mess?" .. LMAO! I just smile and tell him to go away and to come back when Im done - then it'll be all clean and tidy again. He laughs.
But then again, Im a "LAURA" too... so maybe its is a trait of being a Laura?
That's me too! I like to blame it on the fact that I don't have an "actual" stamp space and have to use the kitchen table. But, I seriously doubt that's the real problem! ;)
And YOU want to pick ME up at the Honolulu airport? EEEWWWW.;)

Oh Dena, I have a stamp/scrap space and I am still a mess. Good try though! lol. C'mon just admit it with the rest of us, your a messy stamper - space or no space. hehehe. You could give me a HUUUUUUGGGGEEE space for nothing but stamping/scrapping and I promise you each and every inch of it would be a MESS when Im done making a card. LMAO!!
Messy, messy, messy. My mom nicknamed me "Messy Missy" while growin' up. I've always been a clutterbug/packrat. I Hate that I'm that way, though. I freak when I hear the doorbell ring because my house is usually a total tornado. (And my current/recent addiction to SCS has only made things 20 times worse! )
Someday when I'm makin' millions as an SU Demo , I'm going to hire a MAID!!!!!
I attempt organization but when I'm working on something I'm messy! Also, the two kittens 7 & 8 months old help me make a fantastic mess! Dh groans, but knows I will pick up later.
i try to start out neat because i know I work better that way but I have a hard time finding where to put all of my half-finished projects, etc... Every once in a blue moon I want to get it cleaned up. In fact, the moon must have a bluish tinge right now because my room is calling me to do just that. For the most part, though, I am a MESS! They say clutter is a sign of genius right?! ;)

I am a BOTH person too. I need it clean and tidy when I start something, yet most of the time, my area looks like a tornado hit it!! lol So, I spend time cleaning, then I play and make a mess again. Good thing about stamp rooms, just shut the door!! lol
I start out very organized and neat but about half way through I usually end up with a total mess! If I have been working long enough, I often end up leaving it all over the dining room table until the next day :: Thank goodness my DH never says a word!
Well, if I tell you that my DB wanted us to move into a bigger apartment so I could have a room for all my "projects", maybe that gives a hint.. LOL
I like having "my room" tidy, but when inspiration strikes, it is a total desaster area. But I can allways close the door when we have company It has a sign saying "Caritas therapyroom, therapy in session" when I dont want anyone (Boyfriends mother) to go inside...
Everytime I start get only a few things out and by the time I'm finished you can't see my kitchen table....yeah I don't have a room for my supplies so my kitchen doubles as a scrap/stamp room...I have to clean a place for my hubby to eat dinner. So for those of you neat stampers...say a prayer for this mess maker...my 1 year old son is usually cleaning out my stamps and scrap bag so not only do I have the table to clean but the floor as well...a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do...to get to scrap that is!
Oh, I am hopelessly messy. I have paper clippings, embellishments, etc, all over the floors beneath my table, the table itself is always piled high with papers, stamps, ink, embellishments, etc.
DH likes to joke that it always looks like I ran out trying to get away from a fire while I was stamping. I usually clean it up the NEXT time I scrap/stamp only to make another huge mess that I'll leave behind.aq
I freely admit that I am a messy creator. hehe right now I'm in an apartment and I have taken over the whole dining room table. Of course the T.V. is in the adjoining living room where there is carpet. So I often end up right between the living room and dining/kitchen area and more often than not we have to step over my current project. Once things start to become a serious tripping hazard I get my act together and clean stuff up though.
I make a huge mess while working , then I clean and start all over,,,, I have taken over the whole family room, I threw the couch and chair away, and I have only tables,,,
It can become very unorganized, and piles,,, I have lots of piles of scraps, and tester pieces,,, hahaha,,,,

Let me put it this way....you will never see pictures of my stamping room posted here. It's always a mess! I do try to straighten it out from time to time, but, in the midst of cleaning, I'll get an idea, and that's the end of that! Oh, well, at least the room has a door I can close to hide the mess!

Hey, I admit it, I'm a slob! Actually, I'm hoping to change my messy ways when I get a new stamp room. (Yeah, if anyone's noticed I've been saying that for more than two months now. Blame it on the sheister contractor we had to FIRE!) Ahem. So we'll see if I'm messy b/c I'm naturally that way or if it's because I don't have anywhere to put my stuff right now. I agree with the previous poster who said that she forgets what she owns if she can't see it out. Unfortunately, I have so much stuff now that I wouldn't be able to get out of my tiny room if I kept stuff out like that! As it is, when I'm done with a card the only clear space on the floor is where I've been rolling around in my office chair. At least I know where everything is. It's when I clean up that I lose stuff.
I am very neat and tidy, well honestly more like OCD with things being neat and clean. I feel overwhelmed when my stamp space is organized and can't work. Same with cleaning and cooking. Let me just put it this way I type my to do list and when something is done instead of crossing it off like normal people I retype it!
Lets see...In my craft room there is a long counter with cabinets that are overflowing so that the doors don't shut...plastic stacking drawers on top (not quite to the ceiling - YET) that some have drawers in them (that won't shut) and other drawers are on the table....the table - yeah it's in there - under those piles of CS....cards in process...shoe boxes with partially finished swaps...and stamps and ink pads...and there is a chair....somewhere...yeah - there it is - under the bleeding tissue which is over the quilt that I'm working on...where's the sewing machine??? Must be in here somewhere...found the iron.... LOL and to think that actually get in there and "create" in that mess!!! BTW - I USED to cook that way too, but then who needs food? Now that the empty nest has arrived DH gets frozen TV dinner if I cook at all. Most the time HE brings home dinner!!

It takes me a good hour or so to clean it all up and I am really good about cleaning it each time/day, ........
CLEAN IT ALL UP???? What kind of a job is that? I have to eat my dinner standing up, because my dining room table is buried in stamps and paper and mail and bills and juice bottles and...........
Sometimes I think it is a very good thing that Dear Hubby has gone to live in heaven. Although I miss him terribly, I'm glad he can't see this mess. (I don't suppose there an acronym for Laughing Rather Pensively?)
