I was just sitting here wondering if it is time to start planning another get together.. It has been a couple of months and with the new catty frenzy and all...
After surveying those interested in coming it looks as if we are going to do it September 29th.. Location: 1715 W 1600 N. in Layton Directions to follow soon but if you need them sooner mapquest is pretty good. ;).
TIME: 1 PM-5 PM. If you would like to come early I am going up at 12:00 and it will be in the primary room at the south side of the building
As always it will be a NVR and no project restriction. You will have to prepare as many projects as sign up. This is our 4th get together and we haven't had more than 23 yet.. Seems like a high number but you go home with soo many neat projects it is definately worth it!
So we need to decide who is going to bring what. I am thinking we need 1 person to bring plates, napkins, utensils, 3-4 to bring salad/snack, 3-4 to bring a main dish, 1-2 to bring drinks, and 3-4 to bring salad.
1) YuRee- Salad
2) bstrent-
3) liandrin- chips & salsa
4) mischief732- drinks, ice
5) scrapshappen- dessert
6) tilleydog- main dish

What is a shoebox swap? All cards are to be full cards. (If your project is something other than a card, that is ok too just bring a COMPLETE project.) Each person will need to bring enough supplies for everyone to make their cards including all cardstock, stamps, inks, embellishments, tools, etc. The paper should be precut to the right size so there is no major cutting involved the day of the swap.
Each person is also asked to bring their own adhesive to use on all the projects we make. You will take your adhesive with you when you go from one project to the next. You might want to bring a pair of paper snips just in case you need them.
Please make sure all of your supplies (stamps, ink pads, scissors, punches, etc.) are labeled with either your name or initials, so we all go home with the stuff we brought.
Doorprizes- Yes! If you want to bring one, please do so that day and we will do a drawing every so many minutes according to how many prizes we have. (Bring a prize to win a prize... You can bring more than one)
I work for a scrapbook store in American Fork. It would be free if we did a swap on the third Saturday of any month (they have 2 separate, large areas with tables). They're easy to find - about a block away from I-15. For some reason I keep missing posts for the Utah get togethers!!!! I know it takes me less than an hour to get to Roy from here. Keep me posted, I don't want to miss out!
I will keep you posted (via this thread unless something gets set in stone) so you won't miss this one. The last one we did was pretty close to you it was down in Springville.
Are you a SU demo?? Have you gotten the new catty?? I am patiently waiting for mine...
Former demo! My neighbor is a demo, and called S.U. today about the cattys. They don't ship from UTAH is what she was told - but here's hoping they come tomorrow!!!!
Puh-lease make it a weekend I can come this time!!! I missed it in May since it was on my DD's b-day.
So...the first weekend in August will NOT work for me since we will be going to my niece's first b-day party in CA. The first weekend in Sep may be hard for ppl (not me, just others that have a life) because of Labor Day. I can't think of any other Saturdays that might be bad for me in Aug or Sep.
Hey how's everyone? I ran into Viki today at our Wal-Mart. I was nice to see her. Ya I'm up to a another swap. Count me in. I'll try to get a few of my ladies to join me. Just one more thing. Don't do it on the second Saturday and I'm great with it.
Ok.. No first weekend in August or September. No second weekend in August or September. Hmm that leaves the 3rd & 4th weekends of both months. Found out the August 29th is the first day of school for Davis County.. School probably starts around the same time for other counties.. Soo I am guessing with the chaos of school starting the 3rd & 4th weekend in August are not good either so it looks like one of the last 2 weeks in September.
I will post a poll for those 2 dates... Won't let me post a poll so please vote here on the thread and I will update in original post so it is easy to find..
Yay!! Debora, I am glad you get to come to this one..
I know there are more ladies out there. Is the time wrong?? I personally didn't care for the food at the Flying J.. I did however like the pot luck we did. Would anyone be opposed if we did it at a local LDS building? We could get the RS room or the cultural hall depending on how many people and the time...
It would be great to have at a local LDS building. There is a kitchen & plenty of room. Our stake center here in West Bountiful is not far off the freeway. ;)
Can anyone play? I've never been to one of these, nor do I know what it involves. Can ya fill me in? I see it is a swap. How many things do we have to make?
Sounds like fun. Either day works for me, unless my husband leaves for another work assignment out of state. And anything close to I-15 would be great.
Have you down for the 29th! I was wondering if you were going to mosey over and sign up.. I am glad you did.
I think we can call it a go as long as we have at least 10 people signed up.. Anyone think other wise?? Would 10 be worth doing it for or do we need more? Ask around to your friends/clubs and see if anyone is interested.
It is Tuesday JULY 3rd.. Wow, I can't believe it is already July...
Hey, I just found this thread which is good because I found the last time thread too late to sign up. Anyway, I would love to do this and either weekend is good for me. I'm so excited!!!
Ok so it looks like most people are ok with either weekend and those of us who do have preferences say the 29th.. So I am going to ammend the original thread to say the 29th..
I would like to do it pot luck style and will inquire about getting a room somewhere. Is anyone opposed to doing it at an LDS church building? If so, I can look elsewhere but I am thinking that will be the best bet.. If we don't want to do a pot luck then we could maybe get the Golden Corral again and then you have to pay like $9 for your food.. What do you all think??
I got the date blocked off! Yea! Also, my preference would be a pot luck style event at an LDS church. It sounds like you guys have done it at a restaurant before, but I think I'd be more comfortable where a bunch of lunchers weren't staring at me as I made my crafts! Just my opinion, but whatever you plan will be just fine with me, I'm flexible.
I will call around this weekend and figure out if we can use the church here in Layton. I appreciate the offer Elana but last time we drove down to Springville and wanted to keep this one up this way.
Still looking for more ladies to come.. Put out feelers to your "groups" and see if there are any that are willing to come hang out with us.
Hi guys,
It's been a long time since I've been able to talk to any of you:(
Anyway, count me and my sister Tanya in for the 29th of Sep. We were so sad when we couldn't make the one in May. It will be fun to see everyone again!!!!
