That is awful news! On so many levels. Well that gives us all something to do tomorrow... make Patty some happy mail.
Fantastic idea.
The muffins are cooling, 3-D swap is done, but I had to punt on the door prize :(. Let's hope I don't forget it all tomorrow. I'm shooting for 8-ish; at least I'll try to leave here by 7.
I'm done! Whew! At 9:00, I went downstairs to start packing. I decided to work on my Christmas cards, so I started cutting my last 10 sheets of Real Red...I cut them wrong! Great! I dont' have anymore! Time to find a different red. I am officially out of Real Red & Glorious Green! Can you believe that? I found two different shades, so all is well. Now if my neighbors would just come home & let their d@#%$ piece of crap yapping mutt in the house, I could go to bed! Yes, I found a mom drink, and I thought chattig with my Mingle friends would help!
Joni, you're funny! Yes, I do have a ton of scrapbook supplies. I'm going to a crop on Sunday, so I should take advantage of a two day frre time extravaganza, but I'm going to do some stamping on Saturday! By the way, I need more stuff. Yes, need.
Emma, I'll see you in less than 10 hours! Woohoo! I am so excited! Maybe I should have a few more mom drinks just so I can sleep. No, I better not. I have to get up WAY too early!
I know I will be making a little field trip to Hobby Lobby if anyone wants to tag along. There are actually 2 in the Lansing area. I will apologize in advance but I'm not much of a cook.....my snack will be store bought. Sorry to hear about Patty's mom, hope she is doing ok. Well, I better get cracking.....still have to pack up my stuff and make a ame tag. Have a safe trip everyone!!
Hi,everyone, wanted to get on and say I had a wonderful time and glad that you all talked me into coming - it was great. My DH and I are staying right in DeWitt for the night and we will go walking tomorrow in East Lansing before heading home. Talk to you all later!
I just got home. What a great day! I got a lot accomplished, well everything I planned to anyway. It was good to see some familiar faces and finally meet some of the chatters and meet all of the new minglers. I hope you all had a safe trip home!
I had a great day! It was fun talking with everyone.... and going to dinner with the crazy driver and everyone else who survived the trip. ;) The next time I go through one of the circle thingies... I'll think of Emma  Thanks to Robin for planning and organizing the event. You rock! Oh... and thanks for the better directions home!!!!!

Hey!! How come I didn't know it was YOU!!!!?
(Your roomie for the March mingle)
Mary - I was looking for you, but somehow missed you. I have no idea how we missed each other!!
I sat down at the other end of the room from you, I think. We must have both been so busy on our own projects. I made 23 cards and 2 altered items while I was there.
Jenifer---I was so bummed that you weren't there!!! Now, I'm really bummed, knowing that you were there and I missed you----I guess I was pretty focused on what I was doing! I apologize.:(
Mary - It's okay! I was pretty focused on my stuff also. That & I was in some pain from a medical procedure I had done a few weeks ago. So, I wasn't up to par!
Gosh I sure had fun yesterday !
Thank You to everyone for everything and a special thanks to Robin and Lorien for putting the event together for all of us !!!
Hey, JustBeHappy you were right, I got an email with my Seniorangel and guess what it is an older gentleman, guess I will have to get on the Yahoo group and see what others gave to the guys!
I had such a good time that I am signing up for MArch providing my boss lets me leave early and I can find a room mate for Friday night. You were all so nice and I learned some great new techniques. When I first learned OSW I thougth it was so cool, but I now have a new use for my tons of patterned paper. I am looking at card making in a whole new light and can't wait to get my new system set up. You guys are great. I can't wait for March, it will make this winter go so much faster. I hope everyone has a great week and my prayers are with you all.
Oh yeah... who offered to e-mail me those directions on how to make all those cards from a few sheets of cardstock??? Was it maybe Pat? It was from the group of tables that included the ladies with the cute fuzzy pumpkin nametags.
I am Heidi and the one who made all of the fuzzy pumpkins. However it was the ladies sitting next to us who were making those cards. I do not know who they are and we forgot to get them our address because they were going to mail us a copy. Sorry I couldnt help you.

Roxie,
That's great, I'm sure an older gentleman will apprieciate receiving your cards and gifts! Hopefully who ever your patient is he included some things he enjoys on the info they sent you. Chemo Angels is a wonderful program and I'm sure your going to like it!
You can also get onto the Chemoangels web site and find ideas as far as what to send him.
What is that program? I mean I can imagine just from the name, but tell me more.
Its a program that helps people who have cancer. In my case I signed up to be a card angel, which means that I send a card or small gift to the person I was assigned to every week as she goes through her chemo treatments. Here is the link to the Chemo Angels web site: www.chemoangels.com for more information.
I'll have to check into that. That sounds very rewarding. It said that most people spend $50 or less each month, could it really get that expensive?
Honestly I don't spend that much per month, but I guess that just depends on how much you want to send to your patient. Once your assigned to someone you find out what type of goodies and things they like and just go from there. I send a card each week and a small gift every other.
You have to be committed to the program once you start but its very rewarding to know that your brightening someones day that is going through such a hard time.
