Just so everyone knows. Don't panic if you don't see your registrations as received in the next few days. Tracy won't be able to update the list in post #2 until early next week.
My mouth is watering right now cause I was going through some of our coordinator info and reading about the wonderful food that is included with the registration. Yummy snacks and beverages on Friday and Saturday evening and a wonderful buffet lunch on Saturday. We aren't talking pizza folks. The food alone is almost worth the registration fee in my books.
I like food.
I just wish we could listen to the singers without Simon's comments.
I can't make up my mind they are both great singers --I would buy either one of them on a CD.
Plans for the Mingle are coming along great!. There are lots of behind-the-scenes work being done daily.
Patty is contacting vendors for donations and DD girls to do some demo's. Lorien is working on the CafePress shop which will help offset the costs of the challenge supplies and trolls SCS for Michiganders to invite to our event. I continue to receive and process Registrations on almost a daily basis and answer PMs about the event while searching for the cheapest price on various items that we have to buy/supply and consulting with the SoCal organizers on various topics.
Room for more minglers. This is a really fun event. You don't want to miss it!
mstowers -were you asking about the mini mingle? I mzrobin is organizing that. I think she has the space reserved, but is waiting until after she has her baby to start the registration. We'll put a link to it here and in the chat thread so don't worry you won't miss it.

Hi ladies,
I just heard about this event from Cheryl.. subscribing to the info thread for now, if that's okay... gotta make sure that it's not a weekend that my husband is slated to be out of state for work before I commit to attending.

I talked with Chris when he got home. As long as that's not one of his over the road weekends, he's fine with it... and with all that time to plan around work, he should be fine. Yay!!
How is the rooming thing done at the hotel?
I wouldn't wish rooming with me on anyone.. I have sleep apnea ( which translates to I snore something fierce on a bad night and loud enough to wake a light sleeper on a good night ).
However, if I can talk my other other half into coming along ( eg: best friend of 25+ years and fellow SCS'er thanks to my bad influence ) she's used to my ruckus, and I won't have to interrupt anyone else's restful night.

School's Out [3:26]
Well we got no choice
All the girls and boys
Makin all that noise
'Cause they found new toys
Well we can't salute ya
Can't find a flag
If that don't suit ya
That's a drag
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces
No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Well we got no class
And we got no principles
And we got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces
No more pencils
No more rule-books
No more teacher's dirty looks
Out for summer
Out till fall
We might not go back at all
School's out forever
School's out for summer
School's out with fever
School's out completely
That's because all of the chatting is taking place on the chat thread -- this is the information thread. That chat thread has been so busy, they rolled over the 5,000 mark and had to start a new one! The links in the OP have been updated to direct people to the new chat thread.
This thread is quiet because Tracy is using it for the event information. For the 2008 mingle we were chatting on both threads and it was way too confusing to keep up. LOL
So, hop over to the other one for tons of chatting See you there!
If you look at the first post in this thread, it will give you an idea of everything we have planned for the weekend as well as what you might want to consider bringing (i.e. swaps, shoebox supplies, Little Sis gift, etc.). Posts 2 thru 6 offer additional event-related info (i.e. which companies have donated prizes, wearables that are available for purchase, what famous stampers are coming to demo, how to participate in the Big/Little Sister, if you want to attend dinner.)
As the event gets closer, we'll post the themes for the Challenge cards and give a little more information about those which will help you decide which supplies you might want to consider purchasing.
The first post also includes the link to the thread where those of us in Michigan chat about all sorts of things. You don't have to attend the Mingle in order to chat on the thread, but it's a great way to get to know people before you get there.
Hope you can join us! If you have any other questions, please feel free to PM me directly.
That's great. After my parents divorced, and he remarried, he lived next to the Willow Lounge. They have since retired, and bought a place down in Florida. I still get to Bay City everyone once and awhile. With the price of gas the way it is, it makes going anywhere hard.
i had a friend who worked at the Willew so i know right where your talking about.
I've never been to Florida..yea with gas prices going anywhere is difficult.

Glad to see you made it over to the other thread:p
Hi all! I will soon be moving to the Traverse City area, (Lake Ann) and wondering if there is anyone else from that area going to the Mingle and interested in a possible carpool?
