It was so nice to see everyone on Saturday. Cammy and Michele you did such a wonderful job hosting this event (glad to hear you can use the church again it was a great space). I want to thank my sister for helping a sista out. You rock Michele. This is a talented bunch of ladies. All the projects were fantastic. The pop corn was really good! Michele or Cammy can you post the instructions for the pop corn mix? Nancy I will be taking you up on your offer........I like to sleep with a big shot around.......LOL! I really enjoyed the day and the local craft store was really cool too. I hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday! I think the cool weather comes back tomorrow .....I must say these past few have been heavenly.
Hi there, I'm wondering if there's plans for another NJ/NY GTG? I live in northern New Jersey (30 minutes from Montclair) but wasn't able to make it to what has been sounding like a fabulous event, due to the Jewish holiday on Saturday. I've never been to one of these but sure would like to!

There are talks about the Spring - where in NJ are you? I live in NJ just curious!
I'm hoping to put something together in NY in March. Keep your eye out for more info.

Let me know when in April, I have to come to NJ to see a doctor towards the end of April maybe I can make it so I can be there if you host another one Michelle. Any dates in mind? I think later in the month works better for me, but I need to check with his office.

1 can corn drained
1 can black beans drained
equal size cans
1 tomato cut up (i used 2 plum tomatoes)
1 red onion coarsely chopped
2 avocado, diced
whisk together and add to ingredients;
1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar (I use more - but less than a 1/2 cup)
1/2 tsp salt
stir well.
I like to make at least an hour ahead to get the ingredients full of flavor. Do NOT make the night ahead, the avocado go brown. To prevent the avocado going brown if you are not serving for a while, put the pits in the bowl and remove when serving.
I serve with tostado scoops.
enjoy, it takes minutes to make this.

I will post the popcorn treat recipe sometime this week.
Hi Ladies,
Chili
3 LBS. Ground Beef (I use 94% lean)
1 Large Sweet Onion chopped
3 Peppers (I use one red, one orange, and one yellow) chopped
3 Cloves Garlic (or equivalent)
2 28oz jars of Spaghetti Sauce (I use Ragu Traditional)
4 14oz cans chopped tomatos, undrained (I use no salt added)
1 tsp of crushed red pepper (use more if you like it hotter)
3 to 4 Table Spoons Chili Powder
2 tsp salt
Brown beef, onion, pepper and garlic then drain.
Add the rest.
Stir it up.
Simmer (1/2 hour to an hour) Stir it up again. Serve.
This recipie can be cut in half too. I only brought half with me and had the other half for a party at my house the next day. You can add more tomatos or sauce you decide how thick you like it. When I went to heat it up the second day at my house the chili was so thick I put another jar of sauce in.

I don't have an April page yet, but I think I remember my swim team wants to make a trip down to Nationals or some regional event the last week of April. Around April 26 or so. I don't even know where - NC I think. Lots of details, huh?
