Since this week is spring break for me and my kids too, I will start making inquiries into the best places w/best prices...Do y'all want me to ask about anything specific? Like hotel rooms or like that?
okay, so I was looking at the calendar, and how does June 10 look for everybody. Not a firm date, yet as I still have to talk to places that we can hold it, but that is the first weekend in June that I have saturday open (I have a wedding to go to on the 3rd...a friend who is a confirmed old bachelor...37 never been married, we thought he never would...I wouldn't miss that day for the world!!;-) )
So, unless anybody has objections, that is the date I am shooting for when I talk to all the places. Do we want this to be a sleepover event, and rent the meeting hall for saturday and sunday? A little mini SCS convention? Do we want food catered, or just order it when we get hungry, or byof??
I guess my two biggest questions for you are do you guys want to have a 2-day session and is June 10th good for you guys?
Okay, Ladies, I've made the inquiries, and am waiting to hear back from a couple more places. Bottom line for price is gonna be how many we have attend and how many days we decide to stamp.
I will be probably either starting a new thread or having the mods change the name of this one when I get the rest of the details in place, hopefully by the end of today. so, be looking for a change in the thread name!!

I'm open to suggestions for menu. I was thinking BBQ for lunch and Chili's or Tia's (someplace with really good drinks!!) for supper.
okay, I've got some good numbers!! My dh is bringing me home catering menus when he gets off work, so by this evening, I will have a final number for you. I'm seriously looking at two days, so the price is going to be about $30. It will be about $20 for one day. Those are tentative numbers. the catering is turning out to be the price buster!!
Right now, the saturday meal is scheduled to be bbq from a great local place. If y'all would rather have sandwiches let me know.
The room we have available will fit 80 people. I am going to open 50 spots initially, and if we fill them all, wonderful we still have some wiggle room to add more. If not, we will have plenty of space!!
Also, anyone needing hotel accomodations, please let me know. The hotel is potentially willing to give you a discount on your individual rooms!!
im sooo sad.. im going to miss stampinsandyH.. she is TOTALLY the highlight of the show.. i just love her!!
but.. i will be in dallas that weekend for my goddaughters bday.

I wish I could go to the one in Austin in April, but we are in the middle of tax season at work and I will be working weekends by then.

hmm...I would love to come, but I don't know if dh is going to be up for that....it would make the 4th get together this year, lol! Plus I don't want to drive down by myself and ifmamak ain't coming who would I come with?
Shoot, try to convince him to come with you (and bring the kids) and they can play with all of mine. My dh is already dreading that weekend, b/c he knows he will have both kids ALL weekend, without any help at all.
And then, when all the stampin fun is winding up on Sunday, y'all can all go see the sights of Killeen (I'm really laughing loudly about that...) But truely, there is always Salado, which aside from the store Stamp Salado, has all kinds of awesomely cool antique stores, clothes boutiques, just one of the coolest places in Texas. And Pace Park at Salado Creek...another awesome sunday afternoon adventure.

Yeah, ya know....we used to live in Harker Heights was dh was stationed at hood. I can't buy into the cool idea, sorry!
ah well, I had to give it a try. haha I was BORN here, and have lived here my entire life...well, except for the 3 years I was in college in Stephenville.
WOW!!!!! this is beyond awesome!!! I have been wanting to meet other demos in my area soooooo badly!! I live in Harker Heights, about 5 minutes from Killeen. I don't have 5 star accomodations... but would be happy to open my home if there are those that would like to come but can't afford a motel just now. I may have a hard time coming up with the 35.00 not sure yet.... but even tho I certainly wouldn't charge you to stay here.....if there were several that wanted to stay, maybe we could swap and y'all could help me with my 35.00 registration fee. Just a thought. As for accomodations, I have 2 queen sized beds (if someone doesn't mind sharing one with me), a couch and a double sized futon...and lots of floor space if some folks have air mattresses etc. We could have a great time campin out lol Anyhow... if you're interested in this, please email me at [email protected] I'm very new to SCS and still learning my way around here, so that's the best way to make sure I receive your message. I am soooooo excited at the thought of meeting people in my area!! I love to cook...so any meals not covered, we can do here!!
