Where's Shelbyville? My sister is a scrapper and a new stamper and is in the Ottawa area. I can't get into scrapbooking but I have lots of pictures so I should.
I am 1 1/2 hours away from Springfield and 40 mins from Decatur. I don't know if that helps or not.

I'm from Chapin, IL which is about 45 minutes west of Springfield. I have two friends in my area that are stampin' addicts and we would love to attend a weekend stampin' event somewhere in Central IL. If any of you are aware of an upcoming event such as this, I'd be thrilled if you would send me an invite!
Hello, I live in Springfield, I have been known to go several hours to attend a 12 hour crop. Just let me know when and where. I have a question what is a shoebox crop?? Thanks Debbie
Just got back from Meredosia IL for the Christmas Holidays.
Maybe sometime when I am down in the area again some of us can get together and stamp????
MIL is very close to Springfield, Jacksonvillie, Beardstown, Peterburg, Browning, Freddickburg, Arnsvillie, Chapin, Bluffs, She is right along the Illinois River.
Jeanstamping2 - My apologies to you for not responding to your pre-Christmas message advising me that you were heding towards my neck of the woods. As usual, the past few weeks were far too chaotic for me! Seems like no matter how I try to plan ahead in order to acheive a fun & relaxing holiday season, my best laid plans fall apart.
Do you ever have a workshop in my area? If so, please LMK in advance, as I would really like to attend & to have the pleasure of making your acquaintance. Or, if you are just visiting family in this vicinity for several days, I would like to invite you to my home for a stamping visit!
BTW, I tried to check out your website, but I could not view most of the page, even though I think my computer is set up as indicated. What do you think I need to do?

Sorry that our pathes didn't cross while I was down in your neck of the woods.
Most of the time I go with my dh to visit for holiday's and sometime we go there for vacation too.
So maybe next time I'm in the area We can meet and chat. or stamp.?

Hello fellow Central IL Stampers! A WONDERFUL friend of mine lead me to this post. I'm a demo in Concord (between Jacksonville & Beardstown and only 5 miles from Chapin). I would love to get together to stamp w/you all sometime.
To "CTMHgirl", I used to live in Shelbyville! I worked at Ace Hardware and lived above an antique store that was next to Barbara's (when it was still open) and then it became a fitness center. We might know some of the same people...Small World!!!
I hope we can all get together...

Concord....I know where that is!!!
My MIL laws lives in Meredosia. and My SIL live on Hwy 67 in Chapin.
I have an Uncle and Aunt that live in Arnesville.
And a Whole bunch of other Relatives in that area.
One day Dh and I will be moving to Meredosia..When he retires.
We still come to visit very often.

I have only lived in Shelbyville for four years. It is a small world though. My husband has lived here all his life though.

While I don't currently live in Illinois, I did for years and am hoping to be moving back soon. Our last address in Illinois was in Pesotum, which is about 15 miles south of Champaign. I was raised in Riverton and still have family there and in Springfield. I guess should also say family in Champaign area too.
Anyway, my best friend lives in the Champaign area and we get together probably 4-5 times a year for all day "stamping marathons." We've nicknamed ourselves the "marathon stampers." We stamp at a small church in Pesotum that we can use for $25 a day. We usually start about 8am and go until around 8pm! We sign up for bringing food, usually just lunch and dinner. We decide upon a theme, like Christmas, and then everyone brings Christmas stamps (marked with your initials) and we put them out on tables to share. Everyone then sets up their own work space and we just stamp away and when you finish something you hold it up for everyone else to ooh and ahh over! Sometimes we might share a new technique or play with a new toy. If anyone would be interest in stamping with us please let me know and I'll add you to my contact list when we plan.
I live 15-20 minutes south of Decatur. I am going to the Shoebox Swap next weekend in Champaign. I would love to know of other get togethers in the area.

They are a blast! You prepare the "recipe" and "ingredients" for a card for the number of people attending. In this case, hopefully 24, but definitely no more. In other words, you pick a card that can be made in 10-12 minutes, cut out all of the pieces. It must include one embellishment. Make all cards the same, except for maybe a choice of color or sentiment. You put everything for one card in a ziplock baggie, type the directions for making it, and put with a picture of the card (color if possible), in the baggie too. Do this for 24 people. That way if someone doesn't get their card finished they can take the ziplock baggie with them to finish later. So you go home with 24different cards. Did I explain it good enough?

Thank you so much for explaining. I don't think I do. I live in Mattoon. I am actually leaving tomorrow and going on a retreat in Springfield. Will have to go check out this Shoebox Swap. I see that it is posted.

Just thought I would chime in that I am in Mahomet, IL outside of Champaign-Urbana. I hold open scrapbooking on the first Friday/Saturday of every month. We meet Fri 6-10/11 then leave our stuff and come back on Saturday from 8 am - 8 pm. You all are welcome to come join us at anytime. Just send me a private PM.
