DH interviewed for a job in Nashville and the recruiting firm called & said that the company is planning on making him an offer. Tell me all the pros & cons about moving to that area.
What are the property taxes like? Any other info would be great too.
We have moved many times over the year being military, and it has NEVER bothered me to move, but for some reason I'm feeling a little anxious about the idea of him taking a job somewhere else and us moving. He is retiring from the military this month after 23 1/2 yrs.

hello,
I brother lives in clarksville on base. About 40 miles from Nashville. Oh we went there labor day weekend and they all drive crazy fast. I have a sister who lives in Mt. Juliet not to far from the cumberland river and is east of Nashville.
They both love where they live and constantly try to get me to relocate from the midwest.
Go have fun, and do alot while you are there!

I don't know about property taxes or anything, but the suburbs around Nashville are great. I live about 2 1/2 hours from Nashville, but I have several friends that live in or near the city. I'm not sure where you live now, but you'll love the seasons in Tennessee.

I have lived in Brentwood (a suburb of Nashville) for the past 3 years. LOVE TN!!! We also lived in various parts of TN from 1986-1993.
People are so friendly! Summers are a little (?) humid, but the rest of the year is very pleasant. It's very green and beautiful here.
What else can I tell you? We are moving in THREE days to Ohio, and I am very sad to go. Hoping that we come back here again some day. (Although while I"m packing up my boxes I swear I will never move again!
I don't know about property taxes here because we are renting from my MIL, but they are certainly cheaper than were we are moving to (almost $4,000 a year!).
I'd suggest Franklin. It is just south of Nashville and has EVERYTHING. Great mall, excellent restaurants, and it is very beautiful there.
I agree...I lived in Franklin for almost 2 years and loved it! Close enough to Nashville without being right in the 'big' city! HA. FYI - There is no State Income tax either - sort of why retired folks retire to Florida... Sales tax was a little higher - unless you are already in a city where it's high. I went from 6% to like 8.5% so it was a big switch. Property taxes don't stand out for me...so it must have been fairly reasonable!
Anyway, it's a great area to be in!
